Description

With Call a Bike, you are spontaneously and flexibly mobile around the clock. Whether you're on your way to work, after work or on a city trip, with Call a Bike you can rent a bike at any time and anywhere in Germany.

A total of 13,000 bikes are available in over 80 cities. You can also use the app to hire a bike from StadtRAD Hamburg and Lüneburg as well as RegioRadStuttgart.

All bikes are displayed on an interactive map in the app. You can rent them using the QR code or by entering the bike number.

You can pause your journey: simply activate it in the app and close the bike lock.

To return the bike, take it to one of the Call a Bike stations that you can find on the interactive map in the app.

You can view the details and costs of your journeys in your bookings at any time. You can also redeem voucher codes, report damage and manage your customer account here.

Very unstable

Often doesn’t unlock, especially if you pause your ride. I couldn’t unlock or end the ride for over 24h which cost me a lot since they also added the fee for parking in the wrong area…

Registration is broken

You need to fix your registration flow if you want people to use the app

Very intransparent return of bikes and high hidden costs

I used this app for two days in Berlin and was charged with almost 100 € because I apparently parked the bikes not in accordance with the rules of deutsche Bahn. However, the indication of “legal” parking zones according to db is very non transparent and hard to see in the app. Moreover I always parked the bikes at official bike parking spaces. So this bike should apparently not be used as a bike! I wished somebody has told me this before downloading the app.
