Carmel - Car, Taxi & Limo

Carmel is a good car service. The app is terrible. I have never successfully booked a ride using it. After filling in the info there is always an error. I book them by phone instead — like the 1990s. Tragic.

We’ve never been disappointed with Carmel’s service. It takes the stress off to know the cost is fixed notwithstanding typical Manhattan traffic!

No pickup drivers; they swallow your money; incredibly absurd wait times; incredibly irresponsible drivers; why bother

Always on time, courteous, and clean. More reasonable than alternatives.

Might just be really bad app design, but is too easy to accidentally book a ride, and then in the app there is no indication that you have a ride booked. It is also crazy to me that you can’t see the full fare including tolls and fees unless you select an option to always prepay the tip as well. You can’t do it on an individual ride basis. If leaving manhattan, the base far doesn’t really tell you much.

Carmel canceled my trip without notice or explanation. Took an Uber

I was told the driver would be there in 5 minutes and 20 minutes later he called me asking for directions. I was trying to get to the airport and didn’t want to miss my flight so I had to cancel and get a taxi that was right there. I was still charged 50% of the fee and who knows how long I would have had to wait. Never again!!

we used Carmel to go from the Colorado springs airport to the Broadmoor hotel. Carmel charged us $80. carmel utilized the local cab company which only charges $45 for the trip. Why use carmel? Just take a local cab and save $$. After three phone transfers I got cut off so no way to complain.

Is the first time I tried Carmel service app and to tell you the true is a disappointment:( the prices displayed to JFK was 69$ saying and I ended up paying 90$, what is a regular price with other apps. The app itself is REALLY complicated and not friendly, inducing to mistake and double booking.. overall the service would be 1 star, only reason I gave 2 starts is that was zero time waiting when I called to dispute the double changing for same ride.

I have used Carmel three times. Each time was a huge disappointment. Twice I used them to pick me up at JFK and ended up waiting around for well over 30 minutes before I had to call them to see where my car was. Today, GPS showed the car sitting just outside the airport entrance not even moving. I don’t know how long I would have waited if I did call them. Same thing the last time they picked me up at JFK. Once they brought me to JFK. A TOTAL DISASTER. Twice the driver missed the entrance to the terminal so and we had to drive around in a circle and leave the airport and come back. He would have missed the entrance the third time but I screamed at him to move over to the off ramp. If I had to check bags for that flight, I would have surely missed it. As it was I had to run to my gate and just made it. I will never use them again. The stress is just not worth it.
