HOW IT WORKS

2. Press play to listen to episodes from your QUEUE in order. Queued episodes are downloaded automatically.
3. Re-order your QUEUE to plan your next few hours of listening at any time. Browse your LIBRARY to review the back catalogue, quickly access starred shows, and see your listening history.

• Enhance Voices improves the listening experience for many podcasts and makes it easier to hear in loud environments. Under the hood, Enhance Voices applies a dynamic compressor to increase volume just where it’s needed.
• Sideloading: Import audio files directly, just by dropping them in iCloud Drive
• Mono-Mix — Mixes a stereo podcast to mono, which makes it easier to hear podcasts that pan some guests on left/right channels.
• Chapter Support: Artwork, Skipping & Pre-selection.
• Custom settings per-podcast: Episode Limit, Trim Silence, Enhance Voices, Mono Mix, Skip Intros, Playback Speed.

Castro Plus costs $24.99 per year. Prices are in US dollars and may vary in countries other than the US.
Castro Plus is charged to your iTunes Account at confirmation of purchase. It will renew on the day before the current subscription period ends. You can cancel auto-renewal any time from the Castro settings screen.
You can switch between the two subscription periods after you pick one, but your trial period will end immediately if you do, so it's best to wait till your free week is over before changing.
Subscription automatically renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24-hours before the end of the current period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24-hours prior to the end of the current period. Subscriptions may be managed by the user and auto-renewal may be turned off by going to the user's Account Settings after purchase. Any unused portion of a free trial period, if offered, will be forfeited when the user purchases a subscription to that publication, where applicable.

Queue list !
Je l’utilise depuis des années et c’est une excellente app ! Par contre, depuis une mise à jour récente, la list d’attente à disparu, et au début je pouvais la retrouver en appuyant sur le filtre, mais depuis une autre mise à jour je ne peux même plus la faire apparaître. Très gênant !
Used to be good...
I loved Castro right when I started to use it, and decided to go for Castro + premium version. But for the last five months or so, a lot of the new podcast episodes do not sync automatically and do not appear in the queue. If I manually go through every podcast and sync it, the new episodes eventually appear, but what is the point of paying for the « queue » feature then ? I emailed the customer service when I noticed the issue, they replied saying they would fix it. But nothing has changed since, and they did not reply to any of my later emails. I’m considering not only cancelling my subscription but also moving to another podcast app...

The MOST outstanding podcast app!
Airplay doesn't work anymore
I thought my appletv had an issue when it didn't received the sound from castro but then I tried with Music and it worked flawlessly. So castro doesn't send audio with airplay anymore.
Overall good but
Lacks of premium features for the premium subscription : - mainly text retranscribing like Momento offers - sync with other apps like Readwise and Notion

Top, but …
The best application (I think) but ... it's a pity that the episodes of the playlist are deleted at the end of the episode read (or I did not find the option). Otherwise interface super nice, fluid, simple, effective! I just want the solution so that the episodes of the PlayList are not deleted!

The attention to details is insane in this app, just look at these animations 😍
Problèmes de lectures
Belle application. Apple vient de modifier ses podcasts et quelle régression! Donc il était temps de changer. Par contre bizarrement on peut écouter sa messagerie en même temps que la lecture podcast continue. On ferme ses écouteurs et le son bascule sur le tel sans s’arrêter. Si on s’en aperçoit pas dans la poche gare à la batterie. De plus parfois on esr en lecture alors que le navigateur indique qu’on est arrêté. Bien curieux !! Sur la watch même combat ça apparaît en pause mais la lecture continue. Et quand on rentre ses écouteurs l’écoute continue dans la poche !!! Discret. Le passage en Message m’a fait perdre le son. Et l’alarme a aussi coupé définitivement la lecture. Enfin le rafraîchissement de certains podcasts (ex Humour d’Inter) ne se fait que quand il veut. Et pas tous les jours !!! Pire le transfert vers la queue si réglée dans les options ne transfère que que quelques uns malgré l’option sur « no limit ». Et pour finir régulièrement une palanquée de podcast apparaissent comme si rien n’avait été détectée au préalable. Allez comprendre. A revoir.
