Catawiki - Online Auctions

Love the site. Mostly have had no issues buying vintage watches from Europe and having them delivered to the USA. I have had problems with about three watches out of the sixty I have bid on an won. So a pretty decent percentage are fine. In these cases it would not have been worth it for me to ship the damaged watch back and Catawiki support was not supportive of me the buyer. Still using the site so obviously the good outweighs the bad.

Not a true auction. Lots of price manipulation

Search doesn’t work really well. Sometimes I get a red dot which means I should have new search results but there is nothing new there. It also often gives results that have nothing to do with my search. But the platform itself has issues. The items appear not to really be vetted by experts considering how many inauthentic things we have seen there. Customer service is also very hard to work with. EDITED because Catawiki sent me a reply with a link to fill out a form that goes to…phone and chat support. There’s no link! So, yeah, this app has some mega issues. But so does the website.

Left a negative seller review about a fake jewelry certificate, was removed with a extremely poor excuse. Contacted customer service, no reply. Buyer beware.

So Much good stuff.. dangerous!

They charge a 9% fee called “Buyer Protection”, but it is impossible to get any response from them other than the automated “Thank you for contacting us” emails. I filed a claim for an undelivered item, their automated response stated someone would contact me shortly - no one ever did. In the end, I had to file a dispute with my credit card. Such a shame as most sellers are honest, but when something goes wrong, Catawiki is nowhere to be found.

Don’t use it most likely going to lose money

Ok let me be clear I use to love this app is an eBay copy.. they try to be like the ebay but unfortunately they are not… I buy a pair of shoes Louis Vuitton and they were in bad condition not as described and looks fake from far..I ask for a return..I send the shoes back to the seller I pay $70 extra to return the shoes back and at end the seller does not return my money.. Hi put my on black so I can communicate with him and When I call the customer support of this app from USA to France Paris I pay another $60 for the phone call directly to a customer support service… this is horrible someone just scammed my on there auction Licitaion and they don’t care they don’t offer support, You can not contact team if you do you have to pay is not free and at end they support the seller not use as buyers.. again this person sell my a pair of shoes Louis Vuitton $400+ and I pay another $70 to return back and the seller does not return my money and I have to pay another $60 to call the customer support and at end they don’t tell me nothing clearly or If I get my refunds back. Stay a way this is not a professional platform they really don’t pay attention on your request no customer support nothing.
