Cricut Design Space Reviews

Oh my goodness

Life in the old dog on

Think the last time I used such clunky software was in the 90s! Not intuitive or user friendly. Lack of free “get to know your machine” and practice different technique projects. Please try harder Cricut

Awful not easy

I find the software of the cricket joy awful and not easy to operate. I will persevere with it, but I am regretting having wasted my money on buying a cricket joy.

Total waste of time

Can’t access app, error code constantly

Only works when it wants to

I seem to always get so far into a project and the app stops working. It keeps freezing, lagging and not saving my project properly. When I come to open it, it hasnt saved my most recent updates and there’s elements missing. Really puts me off using design space.

Cricut Joy Xtra

Got the Joy Xtra as a surprise from my hubby for Christmas, I’ve had a little play with it and absolutely loving what I can do, looking forward to all the projects I can do especially for my Grandchildren x

Buggy, really buggy!

WillReeves on

When I fist started using this it was pretty good. Now I get hangs, irritating bugs (iPad pro 12.9, M2). Why is the “snap mat” feature so jittery and temperamental for instance? Why, when I eventually manage to get a snap, do I get a screen that looks like I’m trying to still take the image, then I click “cancel” and I move onto the next step… does anyone actually test this software any more? Quality control? Update: it’s still buggy, and for the love of everything please stop asking me to sign up to a service that I’ll never use, every single time I open the app.

My cricut Joy no longer brings me joy.

tecchieteach on

I bought my cricut Joy to be mobile and made so many things using the Joy app and my iPad. It was so easy and a lovely hobby to have. I haven’t had the machine long and am so disappointed that the Joy app has been discontinued and Design Space is the only option now. The app is awful on my iPad Pro and resizing or moving anything around is glitchy; it either doesn’t move or moves way too much. There is no auto filter for ‘Joy’ designs and trying to adapt or resize anything to work for the Joy is difficult. I end up printing out a card with text in the wrong place and cutting into my cutting mat. You can see by my user name that tech is my strong point and you’d think I would find it easy. It takes an hour to do something that would have taken 5 minutes on the Joy app and I’m no longer enjoying my machine. I bought a foil transfer tool only to discover that I needed to use it with a computer and not the iOS app. Not happy at all with Cricut and disappointed that people who own the Joy have just been fobbed off like this. The online forums are full of people like me who are struggling with the ‘Joy’ machine. Can anyone send me a design so I can make a new logo for my Cricut Joy and rename it ‘Cricut Disappoint’ or something equally depressing? It’ll be the final thing that I cut out before trying to sell my now joyless machine. That’s if I can get anything for it.

App is so slow and always crashes

PB777* on

I have to reinstall this app all the time. It lags, crashes and is just so slow. It’s been like this for as long as I’ve had it, honestly Cricut please sort this app out it’s so bad to use and wastes so much time.

Glitchy and slow

ashernorton on

United Kingdom

The app is absolute garbage on iPad and iPhone and if I could give zero stars, I would. About 98% of the time, it stays frozen on the home page when you open the app before crashing completely, and closes out randomly when it does decide to actually get to canvas the remaining 2%. It’s decent enough on the desktop app but good grief, it’s awful on Apple. Considering that I do all my work on a tablet, I’m starting to regret my access subscription. If it’s not fixed to something resembling workability, I’ll probably cancel my access subscription outright before the free trial expires; the free options are enough to get by on a computer.

No help

….Bo…. on

United Kingdom

Bought a year subscription but when I go into the app it shows I don’t have a subscription, member care checked on their side and it shows I don’t have a subscription and tell me to contact Apple, Apple tells me to contact member care, what do I do? No one is willing to solve my problem and money has been debited and I can’t access what I need to access
