Curb Reviews

Awuful

Will not pick up taxi or offer support. Waste of time.

Horrible app

Yunqi Zhang on

United States

I signed up because there’s a promotion code on my taxi ride. As soon as I registered, I was told the promotion code has already expired. Additionally, the terms and conditions never loaded in the app but I had no choice but to accept. Never installing again

Switching credit cards is hard to impossible

Hplowry on

Switching credit cards is hard to impossible. No matter how many times you push to move off of the default credit card, it will not do so. Restarting the app does not solve the problem.

Awful

JetsetBeatUnit on

United States

In the past this app was great and more reasonably priced than the competitors. Recently it has maintained the same rates but rides are constantly dropped with impunity. I just spent over 30 minutes of getting a ride request picked up, dropped, and then transferred. Finally went with another service. Totally worthless.

Drivers Don’t Understand

Smilieey on

United States

I’ve hopped in the car twice during my Chicago trip twice. Both times they’ve insisted I need to pay through their payment system and pay the meter they start when I get in. Wouldn’t be a problem except for I prepaid. SOLUTION: I opted to eat the cancelation fee of the app and pay the meter. Give me the option to just pull a cab and pay their meter… Ugh…

Love it!

DinaLove on

United States

I’ve been using this app for a while and love it, especially when I’m in a rush or know I have to be somewhere at a specific time (like to catch a ferry to the beach). Drivers are always on time, the tip is already built into the charge, and I get to support our city’s taxi service instead of giving business to car shares (I save that for when I’m in the suburbs). I tried to submit a support request, but link was broken, so hopefully developer will see this: ever since one of the last app updates, I can’t find or there is no longer the feature where I could click and have the medallion number appear in large font on my screen to “hail” the cab when it arrives. Would love to have that reinstated.

Reckless Driving FOR Taxi 1V80

chyna419 on

United States

The driver was visibly upset and expressed frustration about having to wait two hours for another passenger arriving at JFK Terminal 4, given that my destination was only 10 minutes away. In his frustration, the driver engaged in excessively aggressive driving, including speeding, tailgating, and abrupt lane changes. This behavior not only put my safety at risk but also made for an extremely uncomfortable and stressful ride.

Buyer beware: Taxi Driver Can Change the Fare

27 on

United States

The app told me the fare would be $12.50. My friends and I entered the cab, and the driver added a $30 “extra” charge. We arrived at our destination, and I asked him why he added $30 to the fare. He played stupid and said, “I don’t know, I don’t know.” My fare ended up being $42 for a 2-mile ride. Was my experience the norm? Probably not. However, I will never use this app again if a cab driver can artificially increase the price like this. Buyer beware!!

No Show Reserved Ride

afieldguide on

United States

Scheduled a ride in advanced and no driver showed up. We waited the whole 15 minute timeframe without any notification or indication that a driver had been assigned. While I like the prices of Curb, things like this really make it not worth it - we almost missed our flight! This is not the first time I’ve had bad customer support. Another time drivers kept cancelling my ride request and the only one who accepted was 20 minutes away and made me cancel the ride. We ended up using another taxi service that had drivers ready to go because of this. I don’t think I will be using Curb in the future.
