This is one of those must-have apps for me now, after using it for several years. It’s helped me build a habit of journaling in a way I’ve really wanted to (personally I find the “On this Day” feature really motivating, now I get those coming up most days) and the ability to split my thoughts across different journals depending what I’m writing about is great too. In-line photos as part of journals is lovely, since it makes them more engaging to look at retrospectively. Top notch.

We use day one for homeschooling As we can keep brilliant records of all homeschool days and events .. things achieved, photos of things made, events undertaken etc etc and all presented in great format that is all in timeline, so when we have to present a years work the 1st thing we do is show them day one for our 2 boys. Wonderful homeschool tool wonderful app…..also great service

Latest update no good

:6@ on

Hello, this most recent update lacks any substantial advantages and is rather unremarkable, lacking personality and resembling a plain, colorless sheet. The version before the current one was excellent and highly user-friendly. Having utilised the application for over seven years, I see no value in this update. It seems more like a mere formality than a meaningful enhancement. Please revert Thank you.

Quality has diminished since acquisition

22.05.24 Update: App developers have fix issue with sharing extension. Plus syncing has gain consistency cross platform. Thank you. Used to have a 5 star for this app. Long time Premium user. It is my daily driver for capturing EVERYTHING about my daily life. Yet after the developer got acquire, I’ve been having multiple issues with the app capabilities, lost of entries, syncing issues, cross device management and latest, lost the ability to share content coming from outside the app. Normally the support team helps and fix the issues, but before I rarely contacted support for anything. Hopefully this trend stops and the app gets back on track

I’ve used a few journals but…

This ticks many boxes, all the boxes so far as I can see. I find the seperate journals useful and although I am not over using this, to have a journal dedicated to writing about dreams is useful. Perhaps I will create a Gratitude journal too. In any case all entries can be viewed in a master journal to bring everything together. Daily prompts are inspiring to get one writing and it is good to attempt to maintain the daily writing streak. What with is and other options such as tags and importing social feeds, this one is a winner!

Used of diary

Srecka7 on

Not that easy to used can’t figure out how to delete photos and edit there seem to be at lot of unnecessary stuff for someone who just wants a simple easy to use daily diary struggling to get my head around all I don’t want to spend hours figuring out how to use it

Great until data disappears.

Papa Jules on

I’ve been a premium user for 11 years and have over 4000 days of entries. I’ve also recommended the app to many people, however I no longer will be. I recently had to reinstall the app because it kept crashing and two of my journals went missing. I tried all the steps in your help articles to retrieve the missing data, and when that didn’t work I contacted your support, as advised in your help articles. I was extremely disappointed when your help technicians repeatedly referred me back to the support articles I had already read and suggested methods I had already tried. It seems the data that went missing has simply disappeared (over 350 entries) and the help technicians can’t explain why or offer an apology. I trusted your app to store my data, but now doubt the reliability of your service and I’m extremely worried that other journals may go missing in the future when your app crashes again. No apologies were offered. Just an email stating all options have been exhausted. At this point I feel like I’m wasting my money on a service that doesn’t actually keep my information safe. If you value the information you are putting into your entries on the day one app I urge users to seek alternate methods of back up because Day One backups are unreliable as I have sadly discovered.
