No live view
How the hell do I install the DDPai mini 5 dash cam without a live view in the app? The camera itself seems ok but no live view is ridiculous. Fix your problem before you sell more products to others!!
App Connectivity issues
The camera I have is fine, the video is clear etc However… Previously an update last year (2021) broke preview and playback unless the mobile data for the app was turned off (I can deal with that.. it doesn’t need mobile data), but it was still useable. The latest couple updates seem to have broken this even more!! I can’t even connect to the camera anymore via wifi unless my mobile data is turned off ENTIRELY, it just thinks and then does nothing. Once mobile data is disabled, I can connect and preview footage fine This is so broken. I should NOT have to entirely disable my mobile data to view the camera and footage. 😒
Disappointed
While the Mini5 seems to be working and photos can be taken and viewed and it appears to be recording and storing video the video cannot be viewed on iphones with latest updates.
Need to update the apps!!! To viewing live.
Developer Need to update the app to able to view live video.
Remote Snap device pairing function missing?
Why in this App lacks the ability for Remote Snap unit to pairing?
App doesn’t work after latest update
After latest(6.0.2) update I cannot live view camera footage or go back to view history in app. All I got is blank screen. Tried uninstall, re-pair, reset dash cam but no dice. This is super annoying given there is no screen on mini3
Poor software, great camera. Buyer beware.
This is our first venture into Dash Cams. Toyota sold it to us as a major upgrade to their own single Dash Cam option at a premium price. The front and rear cameras are great when it’s working. First issue was the memory card which needed replacing. Second issue was the camera not working which was a minor fix. Not sure GPS is working as none of our recordings have speed which would suggest either a defective camera or bad installation. Don’t get me started on this software. This software is bad. Really bad. Trying to find a specific event in the app is horrible. Very none user friendly. Could find the front camera video footage but no rear camera. Navigation and the trying to record a specific moment in the program was seriously hard. I would not buy a DDPai camera if you have to rely on this software.
Poor Software for a Great Camera
UPDATE Jan20/2020 Here we are 2 yrs later & no improvements to software. So.... with lousy App Software...Why would I buy the new model. Obviously not client oriented. The DDPai camera is well made & professional. Works well for recording driving activity & the price is excellent. Techmoan's review on YouTube convinced me to buy a couple for front & back of my vehicle. (I had previously installed a Pittasoft BlackVue in my wife's vehicle about 4 years ago. It was far more Expensive, but Camera & App work great. The DDPai App is a different story. It's crappy. You get lost from the moment you Open the App. Lots of hype.... Rather than being about Setting the Camera up efficiently for recording Video & GPS & Viewing the video. The developers are more interested in Monetizing the App into a Social App for Sharing with other road users and being part of a club environment. Eg. Getting points for "Safe" driving. I believe getting involved in this would be just wast of my time. Unfortunately the App leans predominantly toward these Social Driving Videos. I would like to be able to turn all this off with a single Settings Button. Give us the choice. Please concentrate on what your Driving Camera does best. Recording events on your great hardware for Insurance claims & to pass on to Traffic Police or YouTube. Cheers TJ in Perth -West Australia
