I brought a cam from Taobao for my BMW X1. It is absolutely great camera. However the app is very very poor that it keeps asking for a full version but it is not available in my country (UK). Then, it never allows the app to connect the camera. Can you make the app compatible with the camera that brought from China?
As I said, the camera is brilliant but this app is so poor! Having to turn off mobile data to connect to the cameras wifi is crazy as it needs mobile data to update. Not very well thought out. The English translation is also lacking!
Live view in the current app version only works with Mobile Data turned off in iPhone settings. Literally no reason this can't be fixed. I have two other (non-DDPAI) camera devices that connect over Wi-Fi to Apple devices via an app without this annoying issue. It really hampers an otherwise good system.
I’ve had this camera for a few years and the app worked before now you can’t seem to see the live feed and impossible to download certain parts of footage as the timeline slider always reverts back to the current time.
Hi I can see my recording but the live preview is just a black screen, when will you fix this issue with the app as it makes it hard to setup in the car if you can’t preview it while installing
Update Just been told but support that you have to turn your mobile data off and only connect via the dash cams WiFi for live video and to see front and rear recording hopefully this gets fixed Just brought the z40 seemed like the better camera for me but the app is no good it doesn’t show live video only what’s been recorded apart from the rear camera don’t show anything no recording no live view. Also once you come out of the app the camera doesn’t detect you have come out of the app so it doesn’t start recording again.
There seems to be an issue with video playback on iOS 14.7. You just get a black screen. Images and clips download ok.
Using the Mola N3 camera. Whilst it is probably recording, the app is seriously lacking live feed (just does not work) and playback ability is very clunky and just seems to hang most of the time when wanting to review captured video images via the app. All in all pretty unuseable right now, I’m afraid. Not sure if the driving assistant works, as either I am a damn good driver with no assistance required, or due to lack of horizontal and vertical calibration ability (due to lack of live view) the system just doesn’t work. Great camera let down by the app.
Please fix this app it’s useless, better to take the card out of the camera as the app is unusable!
November 2020: what a step backwards! The latest app is painful to use. Worse, I’m now stuck with clips on the phone I cannot remove as the app only lets you export one clip at a time and there’s no means to access the files remotely via iTunes sync or other file transfer methods. I’m afraid I’m ditching my DDPai cam for another brand now. [MAY 2020: ADDED FEATURE REQUEST] Great app with some great features. I think some of the reviews must be for older versions of the app, as this one works well with the Mini One, itself a fabulous piece of kit. What’s great: - signal strength indicator. Really helpful seeing this when eg accessing parked car from home. - capture file auto download and review. Feature requests: - FEATURE REQUEST: PLEASE ADD ABILITY TO TAG A TIME LAPSE RECORDING FOR FUTURE DOWNLOAD. it is painful to have to do the download via slow connection when viewing footage remotely, so better to tag the download for auto transfer - so manual tagging to prevent overwriting. - ability to change the time-out for Parking mode. At present it is fixed at 15mins. Add 5/10/15? - ability to run AI on the clips to highlight activity. This would save so much time for review. - ability to tag clips for download later. I’m often reviewing remotely with low signal strength and would love to be able to tag clips for auto download when in car. - zoom in whilst revising.
