EDIT: they updated the app and the notifications and offers and messages are all in one spot and I HATE it, it’s impossible to find messages because you get like 20 notifications a day just from receiving offers. Please change it back to SEPERATE TABS for messages, offers, and other notifications. i have used depop for years and i love how it gives me so much access to a range of second hand clothing, and to new designers that make their own stuff. I like how they reinforce the “pay through the app” as it prevents scamming, and they have removed drop-shipping accounts. I’ve only had to open two disputes ever, one as a seller one as a buyer and both were sorted out with efficiency and were fair, which i’m very thankful of depop for. I also love how i can sell my own clothes. My biggest problem is that when i save an item that im thinking about purchasing, and then someone else buys it, it comes up as sold BUT the listings description itself has been removed so i can’t take key words from the description like the brand or anything from the original listing to search for something similar 🤦🏼♀️ I like how it shows how recently a user was active!!
Need to allow general scroll like the recommended but everything instead of a certain amount
it crashes a lot. i re downloaded and the same problem has happened. it isn’t my wifi. fix your bugs!
And creating error messages.
The app itself is great however their customer support is the worst I have ever witnessed. After being an active seller for three years they took down many of my listings, all for very far fetched reasons before suspending my account. After sending my appeals the responses were all automated as they dismissed all the evidence that I had to say whatever reasons they had to suspend me was all a very inconvenient error. Now I’ve lost all the 200 active listings, five star reviews and 100 lovely customers without reason and only bots to appeal to.
i truly do love the app but quite frequently it will just stop working and won’t let me search for items, upload photos in listings, save/like listings etc. (and I know it’s not an issue with my wifi/service because it’s only depop that does this) every update I think it’ll fix the functionality but it never does ☹️
They will wrongfully suspend or block your account for no good reason. They use AI to flag ‘counterfeit’ items, and then when you dispute it and provide them with all the evidence of authenticity they will claim numerous untrue reports about your account and not even explain them. Yet they will allow people who genuinely are selling fakes away with it. Allowing scammers and not listening to customers or owners when they have a dispute. They will use it against you. There’s is zero buyer or seller protection. Absolutely awful app. Plus they will take 10% of your earnings. Don’t give this terrible company your money.
Just a warning not to list an item as multiple sizes. Had an item that was between sizes so I listed both sizes on the post and nowhere on the app does it say not to do that. Had 2 people purchase the item within 5 minutes of each other because Depop didn’t automatically mark the item as sold. Of course I refunded the second person, and Depop refund their Depop fee but I’m unable to get back the $10 PayPal fee as they’re apparently not linked to Depop but it is the only payment method Depop allows??? And I think their was probably a transaction fee when I refunded the customer too so I’m even more out of pocket. Depop won’t do anything about it. My advice: 1. Have a note so users know that they should only list one size 2. Give users outside of the UK and US other payment methods because why on earth would you only allow one payment method that guarantees users lose money 3. Give an option to accept a sale before allowing the transaction to go through
