Dynamic Runner Reviews

Keeps me running!

BOB:707 on

Australia

This is a fantastic app and great value for money. I have been using this for seven months now and have used the injury series, but most commonly use the stretching and weights programs. I’m able to run further and more frequently. The sessions are long enough to feel the benefits, and convenient enough to fit in my day. The variety is great too.

I have stuck to this program happily!

I’m nearing 60 and have been a strong runner in previous years. Plagued by a number of injuries over the past 10 to 15 years I have stopped running, but I’m caught between loving it so much and unable to do it. Best things about the app are; instructor is calm, gives clear instructions, and is well paced; The program starts at a good level because let’s face it those who know what they’re doing and are super fit Don’t buy apps like this. So it is set at the right level. It also progress as well. Simply by calling the stretching program, daily stretching gives me motivation to do it every day, this is genius. If it was called stretching program and the recommendation was to do it daily it wouldn’t work as well. Simply by calling the app Dynamic Runner makes me feel like I’ve got running to aim for which is what I want to get back to. Even if I don’t get back to running like I wanted to, it makes me think I am a runner which I have been all my life. That is also genius! The price is really good value.

Chromecast doesn’t work

Seems like a good app and good service, however the app is glitchy and the chromecast function doesn’t work. Never had this issue with any other apps - without this service it’s virtually useless for me as I like to be able to follow along whilst it’s on my tv. A shame as would have been a good idea otherwise.

Great content, variety, trustworthy

This strikes the sweat spot between traditional stretching, yoga and pilates with varied exercises. It helps my running, cycling and hugely importantly counters some on the evils induced by sitting at my desk all day. My partner is on her feet at work and it works brilliantly for her too. I use the stretching mostly as pre-bedtime routine which helps recovery and sleep :D Terrifically and clearly presented.

Everything is in one place

I’ve searched for a while to find something that is specifically for runners. There are a wide variety of workout options. The instructional videos are high quality and easy to follow. I especially like the Strava integration. I used the free trial and actually ended up buying a subscription. Highly recommend. Well done developers.

Great content & easy to use

There is so much good content on this app - really solid, running specific exercises. I like the variety of programs and calendar functionality and the videos are high quality and easy to follow with knowledgeable instructors.

I’m actually doing it!

I’ve been a runner for about 15 years and have typical runner knee issues. I’ve known I needed to do strength work and stretching but have never followed through. This app makes it so easy to just follow along and do the exercises. I’m working through the knee rehab program and also using the warm up and stretching videos. Not having to think about what I’m going to do has made alll the difference. I just do what Coach tells me and I’m good to go. I highly recommend this app!!

Loved it until the most recent update

Seesaw54 on

Loved this app until the most recent update. Getting it into landscape view is super glitchy and will only allow it in full screen while watching videos. Videos stopped auto-marking themselves as complete and now I either have to do it myself or restart the app and then sometimes it’s marked as complete. Otherwise, great content. Just unfortunate it went backwards in usability.

Newest Update is not Good

Deeon05 on

I like the app and the exercises, but I just wanted to let the developers know that the new update has caused some issues. It no longer marks exercises as completed so I need to try and remember what I did the day before. I use the app on my iPad and it also turns the wrong way (I use my iPad kind of like a laptop) unless I make the video the entire screen. I’d really like to see these things fixed!

Really Impressed with this App!

I stumbled on this app after having a really bad hip injury that stopped me from doing what I love to do, run. I’ve been running for 20+ years so this was devastating. The pain was so bad, I couldn’t walk without a limp (I was diagnosed with a hip impingement). There’s a lot of noise in the running community (especially online) about when to strength train, how to strength train, what to do, etc. Everyone has a program, so it’s hard to figure out what is best. I have found that the best strength plan is the one you will do consistently. That’s why I love “Dynamic Runner.” It has silenced all of the noise & its programs are very easy to follow. I started with the free 7-day-trial & after that, decided to purchase. There are many different programs including one specifically for hip injury. I started doing that & my hip pain started to dissipate & vanished. I then started to incorporate the strength training program & now alternate between the 2, one for injury prevention & one for overall strength. The app is intuitive & the instructor, Alisha, is easy to follow. The workouts are well paced & she doesn’t rush through movements. Her form cues are easy to understand & I actually look forward to doing it. Am I going to get ripped from it? No. Am I getting what I need to prevent injury as a runner? Yes! I’m currently training for Boston & I’m not too tired to add this in. I’m also not too sore after to where it impacts my run. It’s perfect!
