Firefight - WW2

Published by: Sean O'Connor

Description

Firefight is a World War II real-time simulation game with more AI and attention to detail than any other game in its genre to date. Tanks are modelled with a physics engine and have gears, rev counters and speedos, and steer themselves with brake levers to give them realistic looking tracked vehicle movement. Each bullet, shell or piece of shrapnel is modelled in 3D and ricochets realistically off sloping surfaces. You can see each infantryman's rank, name, weapon, ammunition remaining, heart rate and fatigue levels. Machine gunners will call for ammunition when they're running low and other squad members will rush over with spare ammo if they are carrying any. Wounded men call for medics who will sprint over to administer first aid. Off-board artillery can be called in but will have to fire several ranging shots before the full 8 gun battery opens fire simultaneously.
Play against either the sophisticated built-in AI, or a friend over the internet.

Firefight - WW2 Reviews

Game has become really annoying.

The AI/program constantly moves my vehicles into vulnerable positions and kills them. Just drives them from “ambush” into a street with their side or rear exposed to fire.

Pricy but worth it

This game is amazing and I love it, especially with the custom battles, however my only complaint is that all the campaigns cost $10 each, but i will give credit, each front has a lot of maps and missions, so I definitely don’t regret my purchase. Really good game, do recommend. (Also having tutorial missions for the maps that don’t cost really helped me decide on getting the game as it showed me how to play, props to the game developer(s) for that)

Almost there

Updating my review from 4 to 5 stars because WOW! Bought this game when it was just The Western Front and I loved it. Since then it’s been expanded and improved way beyond what I expected, into what I’d hoped! Attention to detail is amazing, the creator really did his research. That alone makes this game excellent for any ww2 history buffs. AI has improved significantly. The new wedge formation is great, and rules of engagement options allow for many different scenarios in custom battles. Excited to purchase the pacific front soon!

I’ve never played such an in depth and detailed game, the only thing it needs is an infantry only mode for the custom games.

Fire fight is the best mobile game I have ever played it’s my favorite game on my phone and it’s extremely detailed, as other reviews have said it’s inaccurate and not very detailed, I believe there’s so many vehicles, infantry and anti tank guns it is hard to make every single unit accurate to it’s historical statistics . But one problem I do have is I think tanks and armored vehicles should have an actual damage model and not just be destroyed if the tank is penetrated or is hit in the rear. (Basically I’m asking for better damage models but nothing too crazy and complicated just like if a tank gets hit in the ammunition it will explode-except machine gun vehicles- and if it gets hit in the turret ring or anything unnecessary for survival of the tank crew I think it should be able to get to cover and discard all orders for movement) I also think if you’re units should be able to retreat also if all your units are knocked out or killed you should automatically lose. I also believe the game should have a m6 mortar gmc ( basically a Willys Jeep with a 37 mm on the back of it). That was my review and I can’t praise the game enough to express my love for the game , this is my favorite game and I hope for more updates.

Great Game- HUGE problem

I spent the 9.99 on the map thing, thinking it would give me access to everything, instead I only got the western front maps. Why is it we have to pay 30 dollars to get access to the entire game when people on Samsung (or whatever phones use google play) can get the whole game for 9.99.
