Fretonomy Reviews

Useful

A very handy tool. Great for moments you are filling time with your phone. Might also help your ear as the tone is played while you learn the notes. Also, no adds. 👍🏼

Can’t plug in the guitar

I expected to be able to plug in the guitar and play the notes there, but instead I have to tap on the screen :(

So great (one complaint)

This app is honestly the only thing that's made me legitimately start to learn the fretboard. The monthly cost is well worth it. My only gripe is a small bug where say I'm playing the "name note" game. Typically, when you touch a note, the note will sound out (this is an option). If I exit the app and then come back in the same session, the note no longer plays, and I need to close the app and restart it. Again, I love the app, but this really annoys me lol. If it's fixed it's an easy 6/5 stars.

I have downloaded and used many guitar apps, and this one blows them all away as far as training and practicing the fretboard when away from my guitar.

Updates?

Harmonic minor was broken a year ago when I tried this app and it’s still broken. Why doesn’t the M7th show?

Useless without monthly subscription

Timetoburgle on

United States

There’s not a lot here if you don’t shell out money monthly. Anything beyond the first two frets is off limits in the free version. I’d pay a couple bucks for a full version, but this is subscription based so, well, see ya later.

Subscription-based ? Forget it !

PretzelRun on

Subscription for using an app like this ? I am OK with buying a life-time license, even if I am stuck with a certain version. But paying rent ?!? Get lost !

Subscription-based?

Seems like a nice little app? Not sure why it would be subscription-based. I’ll be looking for something else…
