Do not buy!!!
They really rope you in on the sales call that you will have all these amazing capabilities but every single thing has a kink. I have paid way too much money for this for our company. I would not renew with them.
Yes, FrontApp is completely free and it doesn't have any in-app purchases or subscriptions.

Can’t actually do work because it lacks tag and template creation/editing. So it’s 75% for view-only triage. Which is then annoying that I can’t help a customer efficiently or improve my template. 2024 update: no change
The newest update has so many bugs for me. I’m unable to mark emails as read, unable to attach images to emails, and in the process of composing a reply, I’m unable to delete a draft or even close it. I have to completely restart the app. I use the app frequently for work and these things need to be addressed quickly. Thank you!
The desktop app is solid but the mobile app (at least as of this writing” has a couple time-wasting behaviors. First, it will truncate longer emails. So my daily news digest will have an annoying message 75% down that says “This message was truncated. VIEW FULL MESSAGE” so I have to tap that to open the email in a popup and scroll down to figure out where I left off. I gave them feedback on this months ago as well as suggestions on how to improve it, but there’s been no change. At least give us a setting to turn it off. Second, when I click a link in my email digest to read an article on the web, I am taken to my mobile web browser app (e.g., Chrome). When I switch back to Front, it closes the email I was in and takes me back to my main inbox. What is the point of this?! I want to get back to exactly where I was. It used to only do this after a few minutes of being outside the app, which was annoying but tolerable. Now it does it every time, even if I’m gone from the app for a few seconds. Makes very little design sense, and it wastes a ton of time returning to my spot. Very disappointed. The mobile app is otherwise decent, and the team has been helpful on support requests, but I really wish they would fine tune these productivity missteps. UPDATE 10/16/23: in response to the developer stating this is due to memory issues, the second issue still happens even when I’ve closed all the other apps on my iPhone 14 Pro Max running the latest iOS version. It is more likely to do this the longer I’ve been away from the app. Happy to update my review if the team can resolve this behavior but it’s still a headache.
August 2023 update: Performance has improved somewhat, but how is there still no dark mode? Would appreciate a developer response. Original review: This is the weakest link in the Front product offering. They’ve really fallen behind Gmail and Superhuman. Front is just so much more cumbersome, unresponsive, and doesn’t support table stakes in 2022 such as dark mode.

Quick, easy to use app to stay on top of my inbox. It’s great!
Outlook but worse
Thank you for fixing all those small annoying bugs with the latest update. I love Front!
Little millennial “chats” in the middle of email threads do not help - just another excuse not to talk to someone in person or on the phone. Threads that don’t tell you date and time just that you rcvd this email 1d ago (you can supposedly change that, but it changes it self back every day). Stuff like this means I’m messing around working around Front limitations instead of just answering email waste of time
