In FTL you experience the atmosphere of running a spaceship trying to save the galaxy. It's a dangerous mission, with every encounter presenting a unique challenge with multiple solutions. What will you do if a heavy missile barrage shuts down your shields? Reroute all power to the engines in an attempt to escape, power up additional weapons to blow your enemy out of the sky, or take the fight to them with a boarding party? This "spaceship simulation roguelike-like" allows you to take your ship and crew on an adventure through a randomly generated galaxy filled with glory and bitter defeat.

- Give orders to your crew, manage ship power distribution and choose weapon targets in the heat of battle.
- Pause the game mid-combat to evaluate your strategy and give orders.
- Upgrade your ship and unlock new ones with the help of seven diverse alien races.

- Each play-through will feature different enemies, events, and results to your decisions. No two play-throughs will be quite the same.

Fantastic game

9 years old and still one of the greatest games on iPad or PC.

One of my Favourites

Had it for PC and loved it so I had to buy it for my new iPad. Plus, the touch controls work great

One of the greatest games ever made.

Amazing game

I dont normally review but had to go out of my way for this one. Have racked up about 50 hours and I only got it a while ago. Fantastic game, well worth the price that has infinity possibilities and encounters and does not get old. Doesn't require the Internet to play, beautiful soundtrack, achievements and great gameplay that forces one to strategies and exercise hindsight and still keeps you coming back for more. A sharp learning curve that is tough (but plenty of guides and info online) at the start but is then even more rewarding when you accomplish something. Great great game in synopsis!

Great game but it would be nice if you could link this version to the PC version so new ships could carry over

Fun but also much too difficult

The game is an exercise in frustration. While it is a fun space simulator with action packed battles, the developers cranked up the difficulty to the max. It is almost not fun to play, because you expect to die all the time. The game is like a cross between the old Star Fleet Battles pen & paper game, and something like a Star Trader app for the old Palm Pilot. Good graphics and humorous random events are on the plus side, but the difficulty rating is a major drawback.
