I’m really confused. You stated that everyone who purchased this app in the past twelve months gets the new highlighting feature for free without having to subscribe. And that everyone who has owned the app longer needs to subscribe to get it (even if we can subscribe then cancel and still keep the feature.) Why wouldn’t this be the opposite? Wouldn’t you instead reward the customers who’ve been with you longer and helped you to get where you are with the free feature? That just doesn’t make any sense to me do it this way and seems backwards. I would first thank the folks who’ve supported me the longest before the newer customers if I was doing something like this at all. Just seems completely backwards as I’ve said. This move is really odd in my opinion. —————————–——————————–——————————–— I just purchased this application going off of the good reviews I read here. And I have to say that i haven’t been this satisfied with an app purchase in forever. Goodlinks, is stupendous in my opinion. I previously used another app for just saving PDFs, for years. It has worked for me well if I’m honest. But, this app appears to offer everything my previous one did but also so much more. The primary use of tags in this program is very useful and super cool I think. I also really appreciate how well setup the template is for adding and saving URL links to the app. It offers spots for the URL, tags, a title, a description of the webpage or article and also the option to select whether you’ve already READ the page and one more option that I cannot recall at the moment. Plus, the app just has a really non-convoluted and very professional feel to it in my opinion. Everything feels like it’s in its correct place and that the developer put a lot of hard work, passion and time into constructing this program. I’m super grateful for that dedication. Thank you. The only minor issue that is taking me a little getting used to so far. Is what I mentioned about the primary use of tags in, Goodlinks. When I first got into the app I expected that I would be able to create folders to store and organize all my links. But, instead you just have all of your tags on the main page as far as I can surmise. And I guess you can easily recall previously saved links the best this way. It’s definitely different I would say and I still kind of wish I had the ability to create folders for all of goodly saved links, hehe. Yet, hopefully I will get used to using the system. My only concern is that once

I have been saving bookmarks to Pocket for years. The biggest problem with that site is the bookmarks are useless when the website doesn’t exist anymore. This app will download the page to avoid this problem. Not only that but it imported all of my Pocket bookmarks! That was a pleasant surprise. I was afraid I would have to import them one by one. It works with many other similar site too. I haven’t used the app much yet, but very happy so far.
i was sooo looking forward to getting highlights in goodlinks instead of copying important txt to another app (notes).. and it gets put behind their new subscription service unless you’ve been using the app less than a year. disappointing..😢 i wouldn’ve paid another $5 if it was a one time purchase for new features but maaaann these subscriptions on everything today is outta hand. obviously the app is still great, i just really wanted a highlighting feature. that’s my rant srry not srry 😂😂
I‘ve used this app for years and a $5 yearly subscription to maintain and add new features is more than reasonable. I cheerfully support the developers!
Overall a great application which delivers on being a great read later / reading list. It’s out of the application’s lane, but I kind of wish it was part RSS reader, but the fact I want just a little bit more out of the app is a signal to me the author scoped it well. Keep up the great work and thank you for your time and effort.
Way to screw over loyal users. Paid for the app. Now it's a subscription. Zero stars for that alone.
Had some issues with saving links using the Chrome extension. Sent in a trouble report and the tech had it solved in just minutes! Turned out I had been trying to use the wrong iCloud account. He figured it out and left me as a very satisfied customer!
I was a big fan of this app and bought it during its early days. Now new features are suddenly behind a paywall and I have to pay an additional yearly rent to use them. It’s unfair that the previous users who have supported the app and made it popular are now ignored and are forced to pay subscription to access new features. Quite sad to see the shift.
