It used to be simple, thought provoking. Being about out-smarting, out-thinking, and out-calculating your opponent. Maybe surprising them with interesting and unexpected tech-cards that they hadn’t thought about. Now the game is oppressive and too complex to even begin to think about what your opponent might do or play. Back in the day, Hearthstone used to have this captivating “ebb-and-flow” to it, where everything you did, your opponent would (or should) respond to, and thinking multiple turns ahead to these moves would be what decided the matchup. However, now both players are just playing their own little mini game of trying to accomplish their own decks mission - such that it doesn’t even matter to respond to the other’s plays. I played this game for hours on end 8-11 years ago, and I enjoyed every single moment of it. I bought packs, purchased arenas, and tried my hardest to get to legend every season. The problem is the same on my iPhone 14 Pro and 16 Pro. Hundreds, if not thousands, of mobile players are experiencing this same issue, and the frustration is immense. But there's a sad consensus among the player base: it's just Blizzard being Blizzard. The game has always been a broken mess, and no one has any hope left that it will ever get better or be fixed. I have tried countless things to make this game playable. I've reinstalled the game, wiped and reinstalled my entire iPad, opened ports in my home WiFi, disabled game mode, changed iCloud settings, used a physical Ethernet cable, changed the logic board, and updated the software. Every single possible option has been explored, but nothing has helped. The only logical conclusion is that Blizzard has deliberately neglected to optimize the game for iOS. This feels like a pure cash grab from Blizzard, and it's a tragic testament to how far the company has fallen. It has become a money-hungry, colossal corporation that has completely abandoned its users, customers, and the community it once held in the highest regard. If you're having crashing issues and are trying to fix them, don't waste your time. It's a futile effort. Blizzard, I and thousands of others would appreciate it if the game were fixed. But at this point, it would be a huge surprise, and none of us are counting on you.
