Every other game, iOS App turns off mid game.. open to get reconnecting endlessly. Sort you game out! It’s been weeks. It is unplayable!
Pay to win - typical Blizzard
The most viable decks require multiple legendary cards. Legendary cards can be crafted from 1600 Arcane Dust (one of several in-game currencies), which is incredibly difficult to acquire. The most feasible way is by destroying unwanted cards from your collection, and even then it will only give you crumbs of dust: from 5 for common cards to 1600 for Golden Legendary cards (but they’re the ones you’re trying to craft in the first place). How do you get cards to destroy? You buy packs of course! The prices are easy to see in the App Store so I won’t mention them here, but, to be fair, you can also use Gold, another in-game currency. Gold is acquired by playing online, either as a reward for winning a game or through the seasonal reward tracker (because what aggressively monetised game is complete without one?) So you spend weeks and months pitting your substandard deck against online players who will have spent hundreds of dollars over the years to make sure their decks are inline with the fast-changing meta. You will have to swallow your pride as you get stomped on and spammed by emoticons from the sweatiest players out there (don’t you dare win against them or they’ll try to add you so they can abuse you through the chat), all in the hope that after a few months you’ll have enough dust to create a deck that might turn the tides in your favour. And then by the time you have enough to craft one (1) Legendary, that card gets nerfed or rotated out. Sound like fun? Not to me either.
After 10yrs of playing, I'm sad to lose hearthstone
They've very recently removed a playing mode called duels.. which was the only mode I enjoyed playing every day. I find the other new modes (battleground) tedious and unfamiliar. So I'm sad, because I've lost a game I've played for 10yrs plus.. boo 😢 I'm just never drawn to play it now. Before that this was a rare 5/5. Bring duels back!
Still a buggy mess 10+ years down the line
Team 5 have had years to get their mobile client to work, it’s still a buggy mess that disconnects at the drop of a hat, crashes randomly and has frequent graphical bugs. Cannot recommend playing this game on mobile. In the battlegrounds mode, I experience occasional disconnects, but I can almost never successfully reconnect - the app simply crashes and becomes unresponsive.
3GB Download Bug
Every time I open the app it asks me to download 3GB of data even if the download had already finished earlier?
Gone downhill, do they not test mobile?
I’ve been playing hearthstone ever since it first came out, and i’ve witnessed the excitement of when naxramas was released and other adventures and expansions. And honestly it has fallen so hard. I try to play on mobile as i have quite a busy life and i enioy battlegrounds, but after YEARS of people requesting they still do not give an option to limit/disable animations for mobile. Being on a desktop with a modern computer instantly gives the advantage over mobile with more actions. And furthermore i’m watching more and more bugs pop out whilst the game embellishes more paid content, well, not content - just more paid cosmetics. Do they not have testers who test the game on mobile? It’s getting insane the level of bugs or terrible connection felt on mobile, the one market you’d think they’d strive to get right. It’s shameful.
Game is great but the app…
Game is amazing. However since buddies came out it, the phone app all the time is asking to download 3GB update!!! Very annoying when you out and about and want to play but you can’t cause you have a 3GB download that needs to be completed! Blizz come on.
Too many updates
It seems like every single time i load the game up, i have to install numerous updates. These past few weeks, i have had to install updates every single time i loaded the game up, although they can install whilst you are playing, they are still irritating. There are certain updates you have to sit through and cant do anything anout though. Most of the updates that can be installed when playing are all for ‘High Graphics Mode’ yet I never notice any change at all… HOW MANY UPDATES DOES THERE NEED TO BE FOR ONE THING?!?!
