Hoover Wizard

On first run you have to create an account. Do you do that by tapping “log in” or “sign in”? It’s the second one. Password strength check kept telling me not to include my username in the password. You do not supply a username to create your account. Additionally my password was a random string generated by my password manager. The app also told me my password confirmation didn’t match if I pasted the passwords from my password manager; I had to type the confirmation by hand. How’s the rest of the app? Couldn’t tell you. My confirmation email still hasn’t arrived. No one at Hoover or the contractor who made this app have ever sat next to a user and watched them interact with this thing.

Total waste of both consumer and developer time. waste of server energy. The app DOES NOT ALLOW YOU TO ADD SERIAL NUMBER! so it asks for it but only allows input of numbers, yet even the provided example SN contains letters. EPIC FAIL.

I can’t add my washing machine after I scan the code

Almost impossible to connect to wifi, totally impossible to trouble shoot. Connected ok when first purchased (ie had all purchase details to hand to register). Was far easier to pick cycles via ap, more user friendly to scroll through via ap than machine. I went away for a while and connection was lost. Impossible to reconnect. Dreadful on all fronts. Cleans well. However I think there are more efficient cycles but can’t work out what they are. A frustration on most fronts.

Bought this washer dryer specifically for the wifi feature. Never been able to connect. Decided to give it another go. Message popped up that my machine is no longer supported by this app so I won’t be able to use the features. Can I get refunded for my wasted money then Hotpoint ??

I recently bought a hoover washing machine and thought I should try the wifi option. When I searched it up I saw such low reviews and thought it must be a joke as they were all saying it’s horrendous with some referring to the creators as blind. This was far exaggerated this app is so easy to navigate it could be a bit better but as can all things such as the selection however this made me want to write a review to try and better its name as it truly does not deserve such bad ratings .

The only way to wash and dry was on the app and now they are just removing support!!

If I could give zero stars I would - that reflects the functionality. NONE. It seems that you are no longer able to connect machines to the app - allegedly due to changes in legislation. So change your internet provider and that is the end of your wifi enabled white goods. What is more the response from Hoover is that the machine still works “manually” so they have no responsibility. Two years old and part of the reason for selecting their product has gone! ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTED WITH HOOVER. I urge anyone reading this, with a similar experience to write a review. We need to stop large companies from charging premium prices for features they do not then support for the life of the product.

Bought 3 years ago, the app no longer supports the model. Great stuff. First and last hoover appliance I’ll buy.

...but this deserves one (star). All this app does is replace the annoying buttons on the machine itself. The app, user interface and physical machine in fact, are genuinely pretty terrible. Specifically for the app, it's decided that it now won't let me control the machine when I'm on my home wi-fi. I've troubleshooted, but nothing. I have to disconnect from wifi (so that it thinks I'm "outdoors") so that it'll potentially work. Aside from that, there are spelling mistakes! How "smart" can a washing machine be when the developer isn't even smart enough to look at a dictionary? Genuine question. It's so unreliable. Buy a different machine.
