I amsterdam City Card Reviews
Great app
The negative reviews on this nearly put me off getting this for our trip to Amsterdam. It really isn’t that bad at all. We found it very easy to use. Loved the benefits from the free admissions. And it made getting the trams very very convenient. I’d highly recommend it
Not worthy the money app have major issues
This app is awful. The QR code wasn’t working in some places and the maps weren’t showing the places nearby where we could use the card.
Card is lost - After Transferring
Honestly this is the worse app i ever seen. I bought three card and my card is lost after i transferred to my friend.
Updated versions easy to use, great app
Having read older reviews, I strongly disagree - the app is no longer a bad performer. It is now excellent and made the visit so much more easy and enjoyable. I used it alongside the GVB app to help me find the closest R-NET METRO, GVB bus or train and navigate to the location where we need to hop on and off. It’s similar to TFL app for London transport.
I visited with my kids aged 8 and 13, and we managed to see 2-3 attractions/museums per day. The app allowed me to book attractions on short notice which was very useful where my little one changed her mind and did not want to see any microbes in Artis-Micropia. Instead we went to Artis zoo next door without loosing valuable time or money.
Customer service responded to my emails within 24 hours and was friendly, helpful and flexible.
100% Worth It
I don’t know if the app has changed since the other reviews, but I had no problems with the app at all. I did not use the map/navigation, just use Google Maps or something.
Very easy to use and navigate the app, and it clearly shows what places/activities are included, if they are free with the app, or if it’s discounted.
Every place I went to recognised the app and it was so easy to scan the QR code.
In terms of price, I’d say it’s worth it. If you know you’re gonna go to a lot of places then go for it.
Navigation -10/10
The navigation is the most awful I have ever seen
Dutch rip off. Tourists beware
Terrible app, unusable, never knows your code, constantly pushes you down a payment funnel when trying to book slots.
Have to fiddle with the app between transport and museum entry. Written by a 12 year old.
Poor value discounts
Nice staff in the shop trying to help people struggling with this POS excuse for an app.
Well overpriced
You can get a city card for just over 20 euros, feel so ripped off , cost £100 euros , got a free canal cruise but the discounts are really not worth it
Good little app
Finding it really helpful, not having any issues with crashing. Puts all the information from the website together and makes it really easy to navigate
