Even if you cancel your 7 day FREE trial you will be charged
I cancelled my free trial but it still billed me for it… this is pretty shocking and poor behaviour. As someone who is into app development and understands this biz model, this is a poor show from an app like this. Look at all the other comments saying the same thing, don’t be lazy guys, get it sorted now, it’s pathetic and unprofessional you don’t have the tech in place to take people credit cards off when they cancel their free trial.
Fantastic App
It’s a fantastic app and deserves more credit. Yes it’s a bit more expensive than Blinkist however the context is much richer at Instaread. Love it.. thank you for the great work.
Excellent app and even more excellent customer service
I used the app for a while. It would be my go to app every morning. Great to read and listen and get the big ideas.
I am so happy with the customer service. The team responded promptly and they were very kind.
100% recommend!
Expensive Fee for a Limited Selection
At first I was optimistic for the app, now I simply listen to podcasts.
I liked the reading and listening feature, but there are limited worthwhile reads. By which I mean classical literature, history books and philosophy the kind of books you would expect to be condensed for such an app.
Instead what you get are history books written not by historians but by American political broadcasters. I’m hardly learning anything other than the person green lighting the audio recordings has an obsession with self-help books, woo woo books, pseudo-historical books written by quacks with the occasional article recording.
I used the request books function and I have not see any Shakespeare, Plato, or any other major writers who are long dead. The app completely lacks history books (written by historians).
If you want a few recordings of bargain basket motivational books and business tips then give them $100.
Auto renew is automatically one year
The app is decent but their monetisation strategy is outrageous. The app automatically renews after 7 days with a yearly subscription at £85. That is some people’s weekly budget. It should be illegal. Customer service do not reply when contacting them.
I like it but costs too much
And I mean that as a user who only reads 2-3 books a month, maybe offer a cheaper subscription for users who read 5 or less a month?
Great stories
Deliver at timely moment to my email and I am so glad to see this email everyday
Good
I like the app. Though I just can’t understand why I need to tap the play button 4 or 5 times before it actually plays... do you ever test your own app?
Greed
Greedy pricing like come on!
Do you really think we are that stupid that this type of “streaming” service costs this much?
50£ you would have got a new customer!
But great app interface.
