Joplin is an open source note taking and to-do application, which can handle a large number of notes organised into notebooks. The notes are searchable, can be copied, tagged and modified. Images and other files can be attached to notes. The iOS application supports markdown rendering.
The notes can be synchronised with your other devices via Nextcloud, Dropbox, OneDrive or Joplin Cloud. Joplin is also available for Windows, macOS and Linux and all can synchronise with each others so your notes can be available on your mobile phone, computer, tablet, etc. Please see the official website for the list of available applications: https://joplinapp.org
The desktop applications can be used to import notes from Evernote via .enex files, including the formatted content (which is converted to markdown), resources (images, attachments, etc.) and complete metadata (geolocation, updated time, created time, etc.). These imported notes can then be synchronised with the iOS app.
End-to-end encryption (E2EE) is supported and will encrypt the complete data, including notes, notebooks and attachments.

Joplin FAQ
Is Joplin free?
Yes, Joplin is completely free and it doesn't have any in-app purchases or subscriptions.
Is Joplin legit?
🤔 The Joplin app's quality is mixed. Some users are satisfied, while others report issues. Consider reading individual reviews for more context.
I have tried many free and paid solutions for this. Joplin is faster, supported on all decices including Linux (Unlike OneNote, Evernote etc), and lightning fast with no bloat. I can also have separate profiles for personal/work so that it doesnt sync work-related notes outside my work laptop. Would reccomend
The best organizer
This is the best organizer out there, and I say this as a former heavy Evernote user. Joplin offers all the same functionalities, but with more freedom/flexibility and lower costs.
Tusen takk!
Good, but:
Does not integrate well with DropBox. You don’t really "sync," it’s more like a cloud backup. It is an excellent local note-taking and to-do list app, but the lack of easy and reliable synch is a problem.
No import feature
I have an exported todo list I would like to import manually. However, the has no such feature.
Syncing problems
I like the desktop version of the app but I don't think syncing works across devices. I'm paying for cloud , but it doesn't work.
Poor attention to detail
The app works, but has a cumbersome UI and is full of minor but annoying bugs which demonstrate a lack of ability or willingness on the part of the developers to properly test their app. Examples include inserting multiple new lines when you hit enter once, deleting the wrong character, messing up indentation and capitalization, graphical glitches, inserting images into the wrong place, etc. These are easy things to fix if the developers actually cared
A better option to Evernote
I like the simplicity of the app. I think it’s still in its infancy with more robust features to come. There doesn’t seem to be an undo function. The option to add images would be a great addition.
I like it
Good organization. Easy to use
bugs bugs bugs
UI issues, select all doesn't. I'll update review when they fix.
