Learn Japanese Kanji Reviews

THIS APP MAKES NO FRICKING SENSE

How do I learn simple Japanese on here. And there's no tutorial or anything so I might as swell delete it.

This app looks good, and I think it has some potential. However, i have some major issues that make this app worse than making my own physical flash cards. Adding cards in this app is so confusing. You can’t add cards for Kanji, only vocab. When you do add vocab, you have to decide whether you want to add the “understanding” version of the card, or the “speaking” version of the card. Those labels dont even make sense, as they just mean english to japanese and japanese to english, respectively. The “Flex SRS” system that this app uses to time your flashcards is completely broken. It’s supposed to tell you when you have new cards to review, but it just says “you have no SRS flashcards to review right now” indefinitely. When you do find out how to review the cards, there are zero analytics on how you are doing. No feedback at all. I’ve had issues with cards just not existing, which in a world of extremely easy to use REST APIs, is unacceptable. I had an issue with billing, and their channel of customer service (which is just their twitter, which is fine for the most part) completely ignored me. That’s the nail in the coffin for me.

Amazing!!!!!

Great resource for Japanese learners

This is a great app to accompany your kanji learning. I use it daily in order to reach my daily kanji goals as well as a reference app in order to look up kanji I encounter during my day. It’s really cool that you can search for kanji through both type and writing in the search bar on an iPad. Really glad I came across this app.

I selected trial and was immediately charged full price. Attempts to contact support have not been successful either.

this app is incredible!

this app is incredible. the textbooks i have used before are complicated and need someone to explain a lot of it before you can actually dive in. this app breaks things down into very simple and digestible ways that make learning fun and easy. i also love the apps that are recommended and connected with this one! happy learning!

Confusing

I am sure there must be some system. I can’t figure it out

No sync across devices.

YuriiBondarenko86 on

I need to add kanji on both: tablet and iPhone at the same time. Please add the ability to sync cards and statistics.

Excellent but some issues

Jeffgoldblume on

United States

The app does not sync progress across devices and pronunciation is sometimes flawed. New AI voices would sound more natural and accurate. Also a phrase collection would be nice
