LibriVox Audio Books provides unlimited access to over 40,000 audio books. Each audiobook can be streamed over the internet or downloaded for later use. The LibriVox Audio Books app features classic best sellers and out of print treasures from every genre of literature in more than 30 languages.
Audio books from LibriVox are free thanks to the dedicated work of hundreds of volunteers who record, edit and distribute the books. New releases are prepared daily, and the entire catalog spans the breadth of world literature, including novels, history, biography, short stories, poetry and more in both fiction and non-fiction.
The LibriVox AudioBook app makes it easy to search the LibriVox catalog of free audio books. You can browse by title, author or genre, look at new recordings, or search by key word. Because the books are free, you can listen to as much or as little of a book as you like with no cost. The app remembers your position, so you can return to a book later, and includes unlimited bookmarks and a sleep timer for your convenience.

LibriVox Audio Books Reviews
Crashing
The app, after about half a minute of listening, closes. When I open it up again, I have to start the file from the beginning. Time and time again this happens. I can’t get the file to continue. Frustrating bug, making listening impossible. I even upgraded to the no ad version to see if that would fix it. Same thing.
Libri vox
Thank you for the ability to access knowledge for free!!!!!
Great listen!!
Love a lot of the books and their readers! Thank you!
Great!
I was familiar with Librivox before, but was unaware of this app until recently. I’m really enjoying it, and especially like the feature that saves my listening choices. I use it with Car-Play on my morning and evening commutes. Keep up the good work.
Increasingly intrusive full screen and audio ads
The company behind this app is not affiliated with the LibriVox volunteer community. Ad revenue does not go back to supporting readers.
Librivox
This app needs to add more genres of books like Hank, the cow dog and Pixar cars kind of books. Otherwise I like it pretty good.
Hi
Good
Free books are nice, app is frustrating to use
First, let me say I enjoy the library of audio books available. In the last 24 hours I have not been able to listen to any new books. In several cases I downloaded a new book and it would not play at all. In 2 cases it played the first chapter and then refused to play the second chapter. I get the same pop up every time: “Playback failed. Unable to play chapter. Are you connected to the internet?” For one thing, yes my phone is connected to the internet with good signal as I am able to easily stream YouTube videos. Secondly, the books I’m trying to listen to have been downloaded so internet connection shouldn’t be an issue at any rate. I normally listen to audiobooks every day at work and often while driving but now I can’t until they get these bugs fixed.
Addendum:
I am able to listen to audiobooks but only if I do NOT download them. I can only listen while streaming which uses more battery life and I can not listen in the car where I lose cell signal. I am keeping my rating at 2 stars. The library of audiobooks available bringing it up, but the functionality of the app is dreadful and only worthy of a single star.
Excellent resource
This app has some fantastic readers contributing. Hard to believe everything is free.
