Great for learning the vocabulary.
I have Duolingo which is also great, but I needed an App that focuses on German vocabulary. It helps me greatly because I instantly recognise new learned words when I read German newspapers.
Great for expanding vocabulary but top expensive
I have been using this app right from the start when it was launched in beta to learn some new words in German. I‘ve always found that when learning a language I reach a stagnation point because I simply don’t encounter the same new vocabulary often enough to actually remember it: Lingvist helps with that! It’s maybe not the best for learning a language from scratch but rather for expanding your vocabulary. The format is great because it isn’t childish like other language apps. I use the free version and find that it’s now too limited: 20 new words a day isn’t much. It would be great to be able to just practice and learn 100 words per day to reach the target. The price to for the unlimited subscription is wow ... ridiculous. If it was a once-off, I would get it, but a pricy monthly is a straight nope for me.
