Very unreliable

DouglasElliot on

Like others have said, I want this to work because a CGM is such a useful tool but this product and app just don’t work well enough. Connectivity and accuracy of reading are still the main issues imo.

Glucose readings in your wrist

DM iWatch on

If you have a freestyle libre one, then this is for you. Pop the nightrider on, and you get CGM style readings every five minutes. You have to know there are the occasional connection issues, which unpairing or restarting usually fix. Oh, and you have to replace the battery at least every week. Small prices to pay for the reassurance of CGM style glucose monitoring. BUT Unfortunately the latest update opens a workout app session on the iwatch, which takes away the outdoor walk option. You cannot turn this off. This apparently is to gain your heart rate. As you cannot turn this off the heart rate green lights are on permanently. This drains the watch battery in about six hours. So to use the LinkBluCon app on the watch all day, which I imagine is why most people brought it in the first place, you have to disable the cardiac monitors. Great app in theory but please get rid of this workout app usage. I want the LinkBluCon app to tell me my blood sugar not my heart rate. Leave that to the iwatch.

Faults

Mickxbike on

Cannot rely on sensor that’s tells you to try again in 10mins when you really need to know your blood sugar level. Fault more common with 2 model than previous without any benefits

Great facility - good app

S_pduffy on

The reader is ideal and makes diabetes management so straightforward and simple to stay fully aware of. I previously used an alternative device and App before switching to this recently - one thing that I think would hugely benefit the App is the ability to let the alarm/alerts vibrate on the phone - so if in meetings or if the phone is in your pocket and you’re somewhere you need to volume off you can still be subtly alerted without needing to have the full sound effects on. Please can this be part of an App upgrade?

Useless

Plasechooseanother on

What use is an app that won’t allow you to create an account for it. Gets to the year of birth and won’t allow any selection. Deleted and that’s the end of it.

Got worse since last update

Mad-professor on

Having been using the nightrider for a while now and the previous version being super reliable, the latest release a few days ago has been a truly disappointing affair. The latest one disconnects at the slightest breeze and is difficult to connect again. Might want to back down to the previous version as it works, this one is a poor attempt

Unreliable

brilliant not on

Have had this for a week bar one day and the connectivity is unreal. It keeps disconnecting when I move and as another user said that makes me concentrate on getting it to work so I forget to scan. Today it also showed 10.5 when lore showed 6.7 and fingerprick 6.4..... but all other readings have been ok when connected. I tried to calibrate but it came up with this feature has been disabled😳😳all in all no suggestions from ambrosia so don’t waste your money as it will not do as it says

Active developers, feedback heard!

flexedawesomewit on

This app has been a work in progress type affair but for the BG Bluetooth readout, I was and am happy to deal with some bugs. It is wonderful however to see the development pace have picked up in 2020 with new TestFlight builds get pushed out. I fed back something I found was lacking in the app via the feedback email and then a few builds later it was in the settings. They are clearly aware and hungry to make this app fully featured. Happy with the device and the software, mainly as I have faith the developers are working on making this the go to app for this type of service for a Libra user! Thanks and keep up the work!

Great idea but it simply doesn’t work

Neximus1961 on

I have had this for 3 days but managed to remain connected for no more than 2 hours at most. It actually reduces my type 1 control because I am so focused on trying to get its Bluetooth to connect I forget to do my normal scans. Indeed my conclusion is that scanning is fine because it actually works. If you need a full CGM then get a Dexcom G6 as they are brilliant although very costly. Sorry not to have more positive feedback but I have to say it how I experience it.

Update has broke the app!

Mark4785 on

The latest update of the LinkBluCon app has caused all sound alerts to be muted while the app is closed or when the phone is at the lock screen. I now have the worry that if I go hypo at night I will not get any sound alert. I loved this app but the recent update has completely destroyed it.
