magicplan Reviews

Not for personal use with bugs

MChu888 on

Canada

The starter plan is limited to 2 projects. There is a bug in a previous version of the app that limited it to 1 project because the other project from way-back-when failed to sync. There is a bug in the current version of the app that doesn’t allow deletion of old projects, even when archived. So effectively, I cannot create a new project and cannot use the app. A project from years ago takes up a slot and I cannot delete it. The price is too expensive (SUBSCRIPTION of $17+ per month in CAD) for personal use for using the app once every 2 years when I move apartments. Let us delete old projects, or make a plan that is more affordable for casual users.

Doesn't work?

mathieut on

I just spent 30min with this thing. Playground mode lets you use the app with "limited features" which, for me, meant the app is unable to position two contiguous walls. Then the intrusive account creation plain doesn't work, I put on an email and the signup screen disappears, not letting me do anything beyond killing the app and starting over.

Horrible for floor plans

Jacob Krause on

Canada

I’m sure some of the features work great but floor plans are horrible. Multi-level home, they don’t give options for closing a plan, stairs go up, can’t close off the floor, so it doesn’t work.

Thank you for creating it! It’s so fun and easy to use for anyone! I feel like I’m a bit an architect right now lol! Proud and grateful!

I want to cancel this subscription how do I ?

How do I cancel This subscription. You make it very hard to unsubscribe. Very sneaky. This app is horrible

Really neat app with great support

Love the app and how it’s very user friendly. The 3D view is a really cool feature, and there is a lot of variety when building out rooms. Their customer support is very responsive and helpful, big thanks to Genevieve! Can’t recommend this app enough

Updated = price increase + removed features

Judge WT on

Eveytime I figure out a workflow, the app is updated and changes or removes functionality. Price increase for “simplifying how you add floors” is the biggest load of garbage I’ve ever seen in patch notes. Tell your clients directly that you want more of their money for the same functionality. No way to adjust grid lines, snap rules, and many other QoL settings. ****Update Oct 2024**** Another update, more functionality buried deeper in the UI. I’ve been using this app for at least 3 years almost every day, and each update is a step backwards. So frustrated I can’t use the app today in the same way I used it yesterday.

…Free plan limited to 2 projects now???

FC-7 on

Canada

Well, I’m very disappointed to say the least, I paid the one time fee in the past for my project just to find out now that I can only edit 2 (one of which was taken up by a sample project, so in reality I am only able to edit 1) The previous update to limit to 5 was pretty bad already but at least they grandfathered previously made projects.

Some frustrating limitations

MChu888 on

Canada

App subscription is priced high, targeting people with larger projects or professionals. In-app says you can have more than one project on the free plan, so either the wording needs to be changed (“you’ve used up both free projects”), or there’s a bug preventing the creation of a second project. For a casual use-case, a one-project limit is frustrating. And the monthly subscription is too high just to create a second project. Use-case: want to spec out whether an apartment is worth renting based on the layout of the bedroom. Existing project is my current place.

Basique mais le plus facile d’utilisation qui existe. J’ai pu obtenir des permis à la ville grâce à ca. Et parfait pour le 2D!
