I’ve been using MarginNote 5 for just over a year now and my usage might not encompass all the wonderful features they provide I’m still satisfied (for the time being until I learn my way around everything). HOWEVER, my current biggest issue that truly ruins my time is the arrangement of the folders.
I’m an organised person and label everything accordingly. I have folders for my different course and each course has a different set of readings for the different weeks.
Tell me why listing alphabetically from 0-9 is alright but the moment you add a 10 it becomes 0, 1, 10, 2, 3… etc. It’s absolutely distracting when it doesn’t need to be. What would even be the logic with that? If there is an individual with such a peculiar manner of sequencing items they should include a “custom” way of arranging the folders because truly that is not how typical alphabetical orders should be presented.
I would think it’s a simple fix but who know.
Anyway, still love the app. Functionality is still there but that alone throws me into a fit.
Great for understanding large texts
This app is one in a million. The ability to highlight, have it fall into a mind map instantly, color code and minimize and expand different branches of a mind map to go from overall view down to gritty detail, is just irreplaceable. Those features alone would make me download this app, but in addition it allows you to draw on the documents just like other note taking apps, lets you search words in a pop up view as shown in the pictures, make flash cards which cover certain areas so you can do active recall... I don’t know I just can’t believe this app isn’t more popular. As another reviewer said though, it’s not the easiest thing to understand (largely due to its sheer possibilities) so I would recommend watching a few YouTube videos at the start. Fantastic app, please don’t stop developing it.
Can I just ask one thing :), please can you add the ability to focus on a certain card while reading the document itself, without needing to open the mind map panel? Thank you so much!
Ridiculously powerful
This is one of those apps that takes a while to get a handle on. And things are made slightly trickier by a developer that is not from Europe/the US.
But wow, is this app a potential game changer... If you regularly need to get your head around lengthy and complex documents - or you are studying, and need to memorise and understand complex relationships between disparate concepts - this is the app for you.
No response from support
Seems like a great app. Very keen to start using. First book imported in epub format not showing text. No response from support on how to resolve issue
