Needs citation support
Great annotation app, lots of advantages over other alternatives like liquidtext (no need for a subscription for the app to function for one) however the lack of citation support is a massive dealbreaker for me as a student. If I were able to see and copy/export the references (page number etc) of my annotation it would be perfect. Unfortunately it doesn’t look like the developers will ever add this feature as there’s been limited response in the communities forums where this issue has been raised many times.
EPUB reset to beginning of book
Good app reading PDFs. However, when reading epub files, every time I re-open the app it gets reset to the beginning of the chapter rather than where I was at. Please fix this bug

from some degree , MarginNote supplies the better reading experience than paper book.
On MN, all your highlights, clip, snippets, handwriting, ( almost all kinds of markup you can image) be showed on something called Mindmap notebook. MN’s mindmap can be regarded as a comprehensive mindmap; you can use this to reorganize all content by your needing.
Fantastic app
I love this app. I use it for researching and consolidating my research. It’s great for writing up an outline of my paper, so that I can have all of my source material linked to my outline, and I can develop learning resources for other people to memorise details of the research, if I wish to share with them for professional development.
It helps to me clarify my thinking and cross reference my ideas, as well. A truly powerful app, and I think I’m only scratching the surface.
I gave it only four stars because it has a really steep learning curve and the help material is a bit difficult odd and difficult for me to navigate. But those are small things, since the app itself, once I dedicated the time to learn it, has been a fantastic resource.

This is such a great app, I absolutely love it! Use it everyday. It really helps me visualise my notes into the mind map and that alone is worth the asking price. There’s even more functionality that I’m just scratching the surface. Thanks so much!

Powerful, well designed, indispensable
This is far and away the most extensive study tool I’ve seen. Have been using for about 8 months daily. The approach to excerpting and creating mind maps linked to a range of documents and videos is the perfect way to study a range of materials and build a conceptual hierarchy that you can then use to re-access the relevant parts of the original documents/videos.
The ability to create mind maps that reference sections of videos is incredibly useful and an unexpected bonus.

My go-to app for making information from many sources easily accessible and for structuring my thoughts. I evaluated a number of apps but settled on MarginNote because it gave me more control on how information was structured and presented. This extra control means it takes a bit of extra time to learn initially. But now my productivity is so significantly improved that the extra effort has paid back many times over.
