Please read my technical issue requests, I couldn’t publish my latest event or edit it on my desktop so I’ve had to announce it with only partial information via the app, which in turn doesn’t give me all the features I need.
Meetup is really underperforming in a bad way at the moment and I’m feeling exasperated!
This should be an important app
I can’t believe how much I have to pay and the app doesn’t even work properly. I run a walking group and I’m trying to type out a description of a walk and it keeps copying and pasting what I’ve already written for no reason at all !
Full of bugs
This and the main Meetup app might be the worst apps in terms bugs.

Unnecessary, poorly implemented and must be the most unusable text boxes for input conceived in the history of app development
In a word awful
It’s all gone wonky!
What has happened? Edits to events are saved and yet not, so start again from scratch. Publish an event to group and no-one receives an notification. I’m a host but not showing as a host. I have deleted the app and re-installed but yet these problems persist. Whilst you’re tinkering around the edges to maximise advertising revenue please do not forget that it is the people that host Meetups that are paying (well over £200 p.a.) to host groups on your site.
Guest Count
Don’t like the fact that it now says you can have up to 99 guests. Why can’t we go back to stating how many guests allowed per member.
Have now got used to seeing it. Am in the process of telling my members to ignore it.
Bad quality
Most of the functionality requires opening a webpage, which is slow and clunky. I would have expected all features to be done natively.
Not necessary
It’s harder to type things, emojis don’t automatically get suggested and if I leave the page to do research or get a weblink I lose my progress. This would be good if you could save drafts that other organisers on the same group could then access.
It crashes when I try to add a photo
Buggy
I don’t understand the need for a separate app. It’s not cleaner and is in fact quite buggy. The normal meetup app had all I needed. As a user myself I find it very annoying having to switch between the two. I can’t discard changes to an event series. I don’t understand the restriction to change the communication tool for an upcoming event given there is no communication on the event. I have a ‘thousand’ event chats named the same thing. Most of them empty.
Very glitchy at present
The app used to work ok but it’s stalling frequently now. I’m also disappointed to see Meetup applying biking fees in addition to organiser subscriptions. Not happy that our group are essentially being charged twice for a service. The lack of communication made this even worse!
