Great app that works very well!
This is by far the best app I have ever used for studying Japanese.
if possible, adding the option for custom searchable entries would be very helpful also some hyperlink errors ex. where 2 particles are treated as a conjunction, probably due to the way the system is set up, not really a big deal. minor quibble 七時(ななじ) should have a another しちじ reading too yeah?
Jag använder Midori i princip varje dag när jag läser manga. Funkar som ett oljat urverk.
This program is just awesome. Only thing that would make it ultimately complete would be to have a grammar dictionary.
Even though all of the information (theoretically) is available for free around the web, this app makes it so much more managable. Combine it with Tae kims grammar guide and some decent application for vocabulary training and you shouldn't have to take classes at all. The only thing I miss in the app is audio for pronounciation (which BTW can be found in the original JDIC).
It does not show radicals, the information section of each kanji could have more. Should also have common compounds etc. Great tools like handwriting, search by component and free writing. Just needs more pure information.
Good app. I wish the app would use the iPhone’s “Spoken Content” settings. When you highlight a sentence and tap “speak” within the app, the app will unfortunately use Kyoko, a very old Japanese speech voice setting and doesn’t recognize the iPhone’s internal speech settings (my iPhone 14 Pro uses female Siri for Spoken Content but the app doesn’t use it).
Can’t use it for novels/etc
I have been using Midori for years but have to say that the “scan/photo” function that I have been using more recently has transformed its effectiveness
