Great app but the Leaderboard and aggressive comparing to other coders is pointless

Can I please opt out of the leaderboard please there should be an option to opt out of the leaderboards thing in the app as it holds no significance to reality getting number 1 on an app as in there are no cash prizes to be won so what’s the point.. It like what Duolingo does with is aggressive competition and notifications what does a 5 day streak get me ? Nothing ! No monetary value what so ever ! I’ve seen people with a 200 day streak but what good will it do when they are no more (imagine the grave stone - best streak ever ) good app but I don’t want to feel put down by its negative comparisons

I’ve been thoroughly disappointed with the Mimo app. Despite its promise to teach coding, the lessons are overly simplistic and fail to provide a solid foundation for real-world programming. The app seems more focused on gamification than truly educating users about coding principles. Additionally, the lack of any meaningful support or way to contact their team is incredibly frustrating. If you run into issues or have questions, you’re completely on your own. For an app claiming to help users learn such a complex subject, this is unacceptable. Save your time and money and look elsewhere for a more comprehensive and user-friendly coding education.

I was skeptical at first but it is fun.The losing lives thing puts a dampener on it though!

I personally have never come across a app so beginner friendly and Interesting to learn at the same time until today, Take it from someone who would never leave reviews usually to say this app is everything i could of wanted to start my coding journey and if anything more! The way the break it down for you and give u questions at the same time is unmatched to any coding app i’ve ever tried, I will 100% be paying for the yearly subscription on Friday and thank you Devs/Creators for this absolute gem for people who want to learn coding!

Duolingo for code!!

I am testing this as a computer science teacher and so far think it is fabulous… will be recommending it to all my secondary school students. Excellent!!!

Simply doesn’t work

I keep getting error messages despite putting in perfectly written programmes. This is simply different from normal python and should not be used by any learners. I would give a 0 if that was possible.

Too buggy to use

Had to update to one star as the app has now stuck and will not let me progress past a lesson. A good idea but unfortunately unusable. A whole load of bugs in the full stack course. I’ve only just started but none of the tag buttons work in the exercises (just come up as “undefined”), so you have to type them all out manually which is irritating on a phone keyboard. One exercise I did correctly (even checking with the AI tutor it couldn’t find anything wrong) but the app kept saying it was incorrect. Could also do with an undo button as finding your place in the exercises is clunky and sometimes just moves entire pieces of code elsewhere while trying to move the cursor, and there’s no way of fixing it other than trying to remember where it was before. A good idea but needs work to make it user friendly, and having bugs doesn’t exactly inspire confidence in what it’s teaching.
