Description
MitID is your digital ID. You use it when you want to log in, sign digitally and approve actions in various self-service solutions. If you need to approve on your mobile or tablet, you do it with a single swipe in the app. To authenticate on your computer, scan a QR code.
ACTIVATE YOUR MITID
You can activate your MitID in your app by scanning your passport/ID card or with an activation code from Borgerservice. If you have a new mobile, you can copy your MitID from your old app.
IN THE APP YOU CAN ALSO...
Check your user ID and change the mobile number you use for MitID.
HAVE A SPARE MITID
Having an extra MitID is a good idea. If you happen to lose your mobile with the app on it, you can still use MitID.

Won’t recognise my face
Got a new phone just so I could use the newest version of MitID. Have tried repeatedly with both passport and ID card, different lighting, etc. and still get either ‘an error has occurred’ or facial recognition failure. What a joke. So I guess I have to take time off work to go to borgerservice.
Worst app
I have never written a review in my life but feel like now is the time. This app simply does not work and I am being withheld medical information because of it. Horrible app that does not function. Deserves 0 stars
Face doesn’t match passport ??? Ughhh
Just trying to activate my MitID and I do everything up until the face scan and it says my face does not match my passport. I must’ve tried at least 70 times by now in different lightings. So upsetting to know other people have this issue too. Hope this gets fixed :(
Face scanning (required feature) non-functional
Edit: after finally taking my photo outdoors, against a neutral wall, on a cloudy day without direct sunshine, I was finally able to maybe pass the face scanning (no error that there wasn’t a match). However I now get an error that I had taken *too long* to complete the authorization and I needed to start again for security reasons. It takes me less than 2 minutes the complete the flow, after practicing literally dozens of times I guarantee that there are few people in the world that take *less time* than I do. The passport scanning and NFC functions of the MitID creation flow work very consistently - I know because I have used them dozens of times over multiple hours, having to repeat them over and over because the face scanning simply doesn’t work. I have a brand new passport, with a photo taken only one month ago. I also have a Danish ID with a photo taken one year ago. The app cannot recognize my face to either of these photos. I have tried all the recommendations in the app, I am using a brand new iPhone 15 with updated software. I haven’t grown a beard or gotten facial surgery. I have tried standing in front of blank walls, different lighting conditions. If I am having so much trouble I can only imagine the difficulty of those who have slightly changed their look, have older ID photos, are using phones with lower quality cameras. I know MitID uses a third party face scanning technology, so to an extent it’s wrong to blame MitID, but they should really, really consider changing the technology. AND it’s critical to allow for multiple tries at face scanning without kicking users back to the start of the registration flow.
The App is Useless & Torture
I’ve tried 20 times to get my face scan to match my passport photo, following every bit of their direction. I can’t check my applications because I can’t get a MitID. This is madness.

Can't Scan
If you're new to Denmark, good luck buddy! This app is completely unusable and the developers should be ashamed of their "work". It cannot scan. The scan which is mandatory for you to get your MitID does not function. Incredible! It would be funny how horrible the scan function is if I wasn't forced to use it. Please hire someone who is competent to fix your app for you.
terrible face recognition
like i wasted so much of my time trying to verify my face to my passport // id and it would just never work. horrible horrible system
Utter and complete waste of time
After several failed attempts at getting an ID using a passport and P-code it said the P-code had expired. I emailed for a new P-code, which I received. The second attempt failed because the app said the process had taken too long (it wasn’t very long at all), and it offered to restart the process. I accepted but on the second attempt the P-code was rejected immediately. I’m giving up!
