Moneydance Reviews

Limited Functionality

blakey! on

Australia

The desktop Moneydance app is good, but this mobile version is very limited and clunky to use. It only syncs a rolling 12 months of transactions, it does not include attachments, it does not have any analytics (charts etc), and it has no overall search functionality so you can only search within one account at a time. Other similar mobile apps have all the above plus the ability to photograph receipts etc. You’d buy Moneydance for its (very good) desktop functionality, not this mobile app!!

iCloud Synch has not worked for a long time

The iPadOS and iOS versions have an issue with iCloud sync. They will synch once but not after that, making the app on these platforms quite useless. I had tried everything possible to get this to work but to no avail and the last response I had from Infinite Kind was an acknowledgement of the problem. It is a really pity as it once was a useful addition to Moneydance.

Keeps freezing

While entering a transaction the app completely locks up. This started happening when iOS updates came in.

Why not iCloud sync

The app only allows sync with Dropbox. Why is there no sync with Apple iCloud ?? This is a Huge omission!

Languishing Seemingly Unloved!

I’m a big fan of the macOS desktop app but the developers really need to give some long-overdue attention and focus to this companion App. It’s clunky and awkward, and has very limited functionality. To enter new transactions is an ugly, slow and frustrating experience, with no assistance in terms of the rich autofill history you have accumulated on your desktop version, which really should sync and “just work”. Also, no ability to Search beyond 6 months, even though it’s accessing the same database … what is THAT about? Speaking of sync, where is iCloud sync for the App, which has now come to the desktop version, allowing us to ditch Dropbox? Would love to see this App get some love and become a worthy companion to the excellent desktop software.

Nice, but want more

One of the few financial apps that supports split transactions. Useful as a companion app to desktop version, but reporting and many features missing from mobile app. Supports transaction entry on the go, syncing in real time with other devices.

Hopeless didn't work

Needs help

Does a poor job of syncing using iOS 10 and Moneydance 2017. It's always been so good before but the sync is really important and hopefully it will be fixed soon. Badly needs an update. Other than that it's a great app and program

Don't bother!

What a complete waste of my time and resources. Was looking for a basic account program to use across all 5 of my APPLE 5DEVICES to cut bookkeeping time and be more mobile. Found this 'trial', read reviews ok so I downloaded it & manual. Load to mobile ok but doesn't support my iMac no desktop feature? Then the fun really began, tried to -open and start using it & all I got was this DROPBOX Connect? And it wants me to load yet another 3rd party support app? So it's "no" trial app, that's for sure! And full version way to expensive. Guess it's back to good old MoneyWorks Cashbooks & purse full of receipts👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼

Not really complete

So hard to review. Like the PC app and the mobile one syncs OK with it but there is no much functionality missing. Why on earth can't you hide accounts in the mobile app? Means you have to see every account you have ever had - even if they are old, dormant, retired etc. Makes screen cluttered and confusing and it's just a checkbox in the Windows app. Please guys a bit more effort on this app.
