My Cloud Home FAQ
Is My Cloud Home free?
Yes, My Cloud Home is completely free and it doesn't have any in-app purchases or subscriptions.
Is My Cloud Home legit?
🤔 The My Cloud Home app's quality is mixed. Some users are satisfied, while others report issues. Consider reading individual reviews for more context.
It's a nice app but it is limited in the sorting options for photos. I just recently added a lot of photos from early 2000 and it took the date I copied them over as the creation time and now they appear at the top of the list with viewing. I have to scroll through several pages until I see more recent photos. It would be nice to have an option for both mofified and created time.
Another nice addition would be to see photos from the same time a earlier to give some flashback to the past similar to onedrive app.
My Home cloud backs up all my pictures with the 8 TB hard
Been able to use my cloud back up my pictures automatically so I don’t lose my precious pictures of my grandkids. Sometimes I don’t understand it but it works good.
Can’t view video files
All of a sudden, i can no longer view mp4 video files. They re working fine until a few days ago. I click on a video and nothing happens, just a black screen. Used to be able to. What happened?
New to My Cloud
Only issue, is I wish it would just transfer my “Existing” folders… DON’T like having to do the folders All Over Again.
Also, Wish I could see pictures by date.
Logged out constantly
So when there’s slow internet the app crashes and logs me out, then the site doesn’t open properly to log in
Disappointed
I lost all the files
Worst App
SanDisk’s iBi was great for sharing photos and files with family and friends. This app and the Western Digital 4T server are just awful.
Terrible
I bought a new My Cloud Home because WD stopped supporting networking with my old one, which worked PERFECTLY.
I could access all of my files from the app on my phone. So from anywhere, I could stream music that was sitting on my drive at home.
But this one? NOPE! I have my files backed up onto this thing and the app on my phone says “Nothing here yet. All of your content will show up here when you upload files and create folders. Give it a go!” Well, I “gave it a go” and not only do they not display at all, in the Settings the device shows a little grey cloud with a line through it. There’s snap a message that says “Connecting to device.” But apparently it never actually connects because that never goes away.
Irritating and utterly useless remotely.
Update breaks interface with Files App
Ever since a recent update I cannot access any of my files from the Apple Files app. It continually says Content Unavailable, but worked just fine before.
Download status bar missing
Important feature missing, when I try to download a video I can’t see a status bar displaying how much percentage is downloaded.
