A big scam
A lot of the apps functions don’t work. Unless you’re subscribing to a plan that makes you spend more money. The reason for this is likely planned obsolescence. They design the app around not allowing you to do things like change your outdated bill plan so you’re stuck with an expensive plan that you don’t need, has bad value, and can’t change. Then you try customer service and that puts you through a chatbot that mostly functions to sell you things. From what I’ve heard from friends and family, the only way to change your bill plan is to go through several loops and go in person to change it. I cannot do this as I am overseas and either they hide their support email or have done away with it as having some way to contact a human makes it easier for customers to do things that they actually want. Like change their bill plan.
My advice? Pick or change to some other provider who wouldn’t screw you over. Thanks.
Can’t login, questionable data security
The password field seems to manually push characters to end when you press submit. I appreciate the attempt to salt the password but doing it client side? Just no. I can see what you’re appending and if you’re doing what it looks like… you’re not handling/saving passwords in a secure or proper way.
Additionally, attempting to login with OTP, I receive the OTP but get and a error code.
For a tech company this is embarrassing.
Trying to enroll in data passport is dystopian. Buttons jiggle on the screen, you tap them over and over and nothing happens. The app goes dead. Later you might find out it worked. Or not. M1, you can do better.
Update: I followed Sam’s advice. I’m on an iPhone 12 with iOS15.5 and updating the M1 app ….. changed nothing. Down to 1 star for not really reading my review.
P.S. my wife has the same issue on her iPhone 13.
Weird bugs
So I find the app will show me my account details when I’m on WiFi but NOT when I’m on cellular - in other words I cannot access my M1 account info when I’m on M1’s own network, only when I’m on somebody else’s.
EDIT - have uninstalled and reinstalled. Same problem. Says “error code S6100”.
App crashes before opening
The app crashes before opening and I can’t see the data usage. Maybe a trick of the company to get customers overuse days and rip them off with heavy bills.
Can’t even login
Worst app that I have used. Can’t even login when I am physically at a M1 store.
App poorly designed
As mentioned by many the downloading of simple static things like bills etc remains a challenge to the IT of the company. What a joke!
Bugs are everywhere!
