Narwhal 2 for Reddit

Narwhal 2 is absolutely fantastic! 👍🏻

They have done such an awesome job with this app and have no real complaints. The only thing that can be annoying is when using auto play the audio from the previous post will still play when viewing the next post. Fixing this would be awesome, other than that, this app is wicked!!!

det0ur is the scab that crossed the picket line. When app decelopers were boycotting reddit due to API pricing, along comes det0ur who sells out the whole industry and partners with reddit. Pushing their subscription service and delivering “proof” that “the API prices are acceptable to decelopers!” You’re the worst det0ur.

I understand the necessity of the subscription to cover the ridiculous API charges but it should be a sliding scale.

Narwhal has always been THE best Reddit client, and this new version is the best yet. Reddit’s shameful behaviour in how it treats developers, moderators, and users, and the damage it’s done to its reputation and content quality, would have had me flee, but for the fact that Narwhal kept working. That it’s now been substantially modernised and improved is gravy! The current subscription price is reasonable, though I do fear it won’t be enough to satiate Reddit’s newfound greed. I hope the developer is able to make decent coin from here on, and I plan to stick around while Narwhal keeps going, but I do fear the price increasing substantially over time, slowly, ensh*ttyfyingly nudging me to just quit the platform once and for all. For now at least, there’s no better way to consume (what’s left of) Reddit.

Anyone who has been even half aware of the Reddit vs 3rd party developer issues earlier this year should try this app. Yes it's a subscription but about the price of a coffee each month. If you can't or won't afford it try the Reddit app - then try this and judge the difference. The developer has no control over the API pricing Reddit are demanding and is not going to get rich from the work they have put in to create this app. Don't want it, walk away.

Not the app developers fault but Reddit’s horrible business model that causes apps to have to pay criminally high price for access to reddits API.

Used to love this app, as did so many. But seems they have chosen not to stand up to reddit and are now charging a $6/month subscription - I can’t support them anymore
