I’ve had no issues with the app - does what it says. I’m not sure why so many people have so many issues - but they might want to confirm their phone is on the same local network as their phone. If you’re trying to connect via cellular or a different router’s wifi / network inside your home it will not work. I’m going to guess that 90% of people complaining are having that issue. Onkyo should have a message clearly saying that in simple English and I bet their app rating would go up 2 points.

Was working fine then started disconnecting and now doesn’t work at all!

To start off, this app is great and works like a charm every time. I am a very big person in ui interphases and I’d like to say that the ui is phenomenal. Looks amazing and is intuitive for the most part. I’m glad to see that the developers of this app continue to update bugs and issues. And because y’all update the app, I’d like to point out a few suggestions. First, I’d like to see the same HDMI CEC digital remotes, present in zone one, to also be present in the zone two section, so I don’t always have to alternate between zones in the app. Secondly, I’d like to see the MODE button present in one of the blank spots of the remote, so I don’t need to have both my phone and physical remote in hand. Also talking about zone two, whenever I select dts - play fi, zone two shuts off. And finally, this may be pushing it, but it would be so awesome if there was a feature called ZONE 2 LFE, which would enable only the LFE channel in zone one, but not the rest of the speakers, so when using zone two, the speakers get a little assistance from the subwoofer placed back in the main theater. If the developers of this app can pull that off, that would be great! Those are just some things I thought would make sense through the years that I’ve owned my Onkyo. Thank you for creating an amazing app and for maintaining it. Oh yea, by the way, that new app logo looks great!

Rather then review, I have a question. Why this app won’t work when I connect my phone out of my house and LAN with VPN? Would appreciate the advice, thank you!

My review went from a five star "Simple and easy to use, it took about three minutes to familiarize myself with the app, 20 minutes to run through the dirac live process and everything is perfect. I'm loving my tx-nr7100, it sounds great, thanks onkyo," to I have to unplug the unit at least once a week to get it to communicate with my phone. At least it still works I guess, for how long we'll see.

I bought Onkyo based on it supposedly being able to connect to Tidal, being Roon tested and including Dirac. But all of these have to be accessed through this useless application, which does not work.

Things just simply don’t work. You can’t change listening modes or adjust settings without the AVR sound disappearing or it shutting off. Fix the app or fix the firmware please!!

By far the least dependable app I’ve ever used for any purpose. Loses connection with the device constantly - even while I am using AirPlay through the receiver, so I know there is no problem with the WiFi. Then it refuses to reconnect, even when I manually input the ip address. Utter trash.

This app is very inconsistent and totally disappointing. It is a shame the poor performance of the app will ensure I never buy another onkyo piece of equipment..
