Broken ability to control pioneer products
Latest update has broken ability to control/group pioneer products using same tech. Needs to be resolved as this is a major loss of functionality

Onkyo Controller is the official Onkyo remote control application that allows users to conveniently operate compatible Onkyo network products from their iPhone/iPod touch/iPad.
The intuitive, user-friendly interface makes it easy to get more from your AV home entertainment experience.
Main functions that can be operated through this application.
(1) Play music in each room or every room
- Lets you play music from music streaming services such as Pandora, Spotify, DEEZER and TIDAL, your music library on your smart device, or your NAS drive on compatible products.
- You can play your music via radio, Bluetooth and USB.
(2) Remote control functions
- You can operate general control functions (play/stop, control the volume, select the input source, etc.) from your smartphone.
(3) Operation of connected product（home theater product such as AV amplifier）
- Lets you control a Blu-Ray Disc player or TV that is connected to an AV amplifier or home theater product via HDMI.
(4) Dirac Live-enabled products measure automatic sound field correction. In addition, filters can be edited.
(5) Audio/Video formats of input and output can also be checked.
*By setting the “Network Standby” menu item in the unit’s initial settings to ON, you can use this application to turn on the power of the unit.

・All models require a firmware update to use Onkyo Controller.

・Why Device's location is needed? Answer: In order to set-up your wireless devices which are located around you, SSID and Access Point info is needed. There is no other purpose to use the information of Device’s Location.

Rear Speaker Control
Would be a great advantage to be able to control the rear speaker level on this app. I have my audio levels set evenly through all speakers while playing music, but raise levels for rears during movie playback. Please add this to next update 🤞

Simply awful. Thought it might be me until I read these reviews
Horrible usability
This is such a poorly designed app. It’s cumbersome to use and difficult to navigate. I’m looking at buying a new amp just so I don’t have to deal with this rubbish.
Absolute garbage
How could you design something as user unfriendly as this?
So painful
I have a set of Onkyo at one house and a set of Sonos at the other. Sonos just works 100% of the time and I can group / ungroup without issue. The Onkyo are a total nightmare in comparison.
Frustrating App to use
Hey I have a TX-NR686. It would be great if you could, 1/ Just jump into the App and change the Volume without have to go through so many menus. 2/ Have the Receiver remember what preset I was playing in last time in Net/TuneIn, without having to go through all those menus again. Maybe in the App you could sideways scroll to a "Remote Control" screen where you could control the basic functions like volume etc.
