Tried to log in with my Goethe-Institut account but every time I click log in it automatically takes me to the library, not to a log in page.

The Onleihe – the free of charge service of your library now as an app, supports over 2.900 libraries.
With this app you’ll always have your library with you. Browse the collection of your library and lent eBooks and eMagazine on the fly or from your home directly with your smartphone or tablet. You can also lent eAudio and eMusic titles, listen to them via streaming or download them directly onto your device. Following the same principle as the web-based Onleihe, the lent titles can be consumed free of charge for a certain set amount of time. Afterwards the titles will automatically be returned to the library.
You can search directly throughout the app or browse the collection of your library through different categories and eMagazines. On first sight, you’ll see if a title is available and you can alter your search results with an wide array of different filter or sort options.
The detailed view of a certain title will give you all the information you seek, from the name of the book, the author, to the series name, length and much more. If a title is temporary not available you can also reserve it. As soon as the title is then available for you, you will get an e-mail notification to the address you specified. Your reservations are easily accessible with an overview and you can directly lent the titles if they are available. Should you no longer need an ongoing reservation or if you do need to change the address, you are able to edit or delete your reservations.
At any given time you can access your overview of your lent titles. At the moment you are able to lent, read or listen to eBooks, eMagazines, eAudios and eMusic titles.
ACCESS
To access the service of the Onleihe, you need to be an active member of a library who is part of the Onleihe system. Username and login credentials are provided by your library. Should you already use the Onleihe via the web-browser you can use the exact same login credentials to access the app.
CONSUME MEDIA
You are able to directly load and read all eBooks and eMagazines which you have lent beforehand. You are also free use a different external DRM able eBook reader. eAudio and eMusic titles can be streamed directly via the in app player, or you can chose to download the titles and listen to them later on, even offline. This also needs to be done directly via the in app player.

Cannot give lessons than ones star
I wish I could given this app less than one star. All German libraries seem too use this terrible app. It’s rarely works and it is obvious this company is not capable of developing a functional app. They had more than a decade to make it work and it’s time to give the job to someone else. Overdrive is a good example.
Dreadful time waster
Can’t even begin to login.
App is a disaster
This app is a disaster. Tried so many times to download a book with no success. Audiobook Stopps constantly. Loads everything forever. Any small activity in the app like e.g. pausing the audiobook, takes a long time time so it takes forever to restart. I thought it would be good to save some money on audible and try Onleihe instead - not worth it. Too frustrating and I’m wasting so much time on dealing with this useless app. And it never works when I actually really really want it to work. The idea is great , it just doesn’t work. Disappointing.

takes ages between clicks. Can’t even download an audiobook and audiobook player crashes reliably after 2-10min every time.… Very frustrating.
Terrible app
Slow, becomes unresponsive every second search and absolutely frustrating. The English translation could be better, too. The Goethe Institute can do better than that! One star is too much for this app.
Very frustrating
This is the most frustrating app. I can’t download books to my iPhone and keep getting error messages and audio books keep cutting out constantly. I can’t get onto support either. Help!!!!
Terrible app
This really is an awful app. It promises so much, but I have never been able to get it to load even a single book. Total waste of time.
WORST App Ever!!
Why do German libraries settle for such poor quality apps like this horrible, poorly designed platform that constantly crashes and is slower than a snail. German libraries should replace this with BorrowBox, RBDigital or any other quality library digital app than this.
No switch between libraries anymore
Its great to have books always handy on your mobile devices. I love it. Its a good app to search for books and magazines. Unfortunately with the latest upgrade the easy swap between different libraries was removed :-/ In the past I could have multiple libraries activated and only had to swap with a click between them. Now I have to fully log out, search for the other library from all others and fully login again. A great feature was removed. I would rather have the old version back...
