No dark mode
Love the app, only problem is there is no “dark mode”. It’s in quotes because there is one for the app but it only affects the app not the books you want to read .

My only problem with this app is it doesn’t have a dark mode. Other than that everything works great.
tried to signup but every email I had said invalid after correctly entering code app screams off shore development and which is sad bc oreilly use to be a decent platform for reading engineering books but now their app and website is poorly engineered by overseas and I wouldn’t trust with my payment details if they can’t implement signup same problem exist across devices and connections wifi vs mobile and ios vs android vs pc
There are actually a number of nice features, and the reading view is plenty configurable. That said, the rendering of textbooks in several of the configuration states needs work. In particular, a single wide programming text box in vertical scroll mode will make the entire page finicky (think desktop website on mobile), and in horizontal paging mode, it just runs onto the next page, overlapping with text. All programming text boxes should be made into horizontally scrollable elements. If this conflicts with horizontal paging interaction, then make text boxes selectable, like kindle images.
This is so frustrating!! Whenever I highlight a few words or sentences, the highlighting disappears and I had to redo it again!😤😤😤
Post upgrade app lost track of all downloaded content, which seems to still be there on disk, inaccessible.
This is becoming a scam. I used to really enjoy it. But couldn’t find how to unsubscribe. My employer isn’t paying for this anymore.
Highlights seem to not be supported. Bookmarks as well? Please bring back this functionality.
I am a long time Safari Books subscriber. It gives me access to a large selection of software books. It is like living close to a university library. I also have many books on shelves in my office. That is also very good but they are First and Second editions of the books. With O’Reilly Books, I have the current editions (or specific versions, for that matter). I can also search for a particular topic and receive results across the entire library. How cool is that! Thank you, O’Reilly.
It was great
