Relieved to join
I’m another who has has jumped ship from maps.me. Managed to move my book marks as well. Brilliant thanks One small problem. I mainly use it for cycling. It uses purple dashed lines - easy to follow while riding. However when it comes to turns and junctions the purple changes to white. Roads are also white. White on white can not be seen. When trying to look at map and cycle at the same time you can’t work out where to go as it’s all white. Please keep it purple during turns Otherwise brilliant app
mid tbh
like maps.me but worse in interface and slow
Relieved to discover this app
I’m delighted to discover this map app after MapsMe went so badly wrong. I made sure that my bookmark lists were exported first and opened them in this app, then deleted MapsMe.
The maps looks sharper.
One thing I don’t understand though…why do UK maps include British Indian Ocean Territory? It’s not like you can get a ferry crossing - it’s on the other side of the globe!
Works well offline
I like that this app does not harvest personal information. This app works well off-line if one has downloaded the area beforehand.
Better than Freemium rivals
I switched to this when Maps.Me started to limit map downloads unless you paid.
Didn’t realise at first that Organic Maps was a fork of the same original app, but very glad to find it here! This does all I want; why would I want a wallet in a mapping app? My iPhone already has a better Wallet app.
Thanks guys!

The best maps!👍🏻👍🏻
Free app - free maps & works offline
Not for profit FOSS (free open source software) written and maintained by the community that renders OSM - a free community created and maintained global map (cf Wikipedia - knowledge shared by the community). Needs no mobile network internet connection to function. It is ideal to avoid extortionate roaming data network charges when travelling abroad. It keeps working where there is no network coverage in remote areas when hiking. OSM shows routes like footpaths commercial operators ignore because they cannot “monetise” them from advertisers. App does not yet import gpx tracks but, with support, the community will keep making it better. Peerless free offline mapping on portable Apple devices.
Glad to be back
I hadn’t realised that the original App had changed ownership and so pleased to come back to the ‘original and best’… it does what it needs to and no more (in the best way!)
Wish I could import routes with multiple stops though…
Keep up the good work.
Absolutely top mapping solution.
OSM data is starting to get better than OS mapping data now. This app does an absolute perfect job of using it and making it accessible without the privacy and data sharing concerns of other systems.
Amazing app right now
Hope it stays the same, simple, like it is. Useless things like hotel bookings and wallets are bloating the app and are unnecessary, there are other apps for that.
