I really like the format of this app, simple, very intuitive (except for color picking), and use it a lot for taking notes and preparing art direction projects.
The last UI update though ? Hello? I don’t need a very large export button on every pages (iPad mini) and even less another one for exporting to the ai on Evernote, an app that costs 25 times the subscription for paper Pro, and that I will ever, ever use.
This is the worse UI/marketing idea, and I hope it will disappear soon, as I can’t read anything I wrote in the right upper corner on my sketchbooks!!
They don’t care.
You know those moments when you want to write or sketch something quick? Well, it’s not gonna happen here. Sync, who knows why, is removing your notebooks, so basically every time you have to wait for them to load and it takes forever. It wasn’t solved for years and they don’t car. And it’s a paid option, ironically.

Terrible
I’ve never updated the app because I loved the first layout and simplicity. I just updated my latest iOS software, went to open the app and it wouldn’t let me. I had to update the app for it work with the latest software and it has deleted all of my passwords/lists and everything I needed. If there’s a way to get it back without having to PAY for your pro service, please let me know. It’s absolutely ridiculous I have to pay €10 to sync my lists over to this terrible edition of the app.

Smart shapes don’t work consistently
Got this to help with diagraming for work. Had a previous version years ago and loved it. Unfortunately in 2020 this was a really disappointing experience. I just spent the last half hour trying to draw squares that would convert to so called smart shapes. Only seems to work about 30% of the time. Very frustrating and totally not worth the money for diagraming. The whole point of the purchase was to make diagrams that stand out and are more attractive than the basic whiteboard. Total failure on that front.
Good for free, don’t get pro, get GoodNotes 5 instead
Went pro on this app on a whim. I use this for college and GoodNotes 5 suits my needs better, regret going pro on this for the same price, but free version is fine. Just not worth subscribing.
