What’s the point of having a calendar when I can’t plan 1 week ahead without paying?
So far this is the only app that suits my habit of planning and journaling. But I don’t want to subscribe and use it yet because I don’t see any export function and I don’t want to lose my notes and scribbling. Would be nice if we can choose the layout and have them export to pdf for permanent backup storage.
I loved this app when I first tried it. After purchasing the pro-access for additional services, the app stopped working. And of course, after I had written up pages and pages of budgeting notes, etc. The app freezes upon opening and crashes after a few seconds when opening a page. I can not view my information beyond the Home Screen and even then, it only stays up for no more than 30 seconds before crashing as well. App support never responds to emails and I have not been able to get a refund for my subscription. I held out hope for a response or a fix to restore my saved data, but it has been several months now and I missed my window for refund. The app was highly rated, but after doing a google search, I found this is a common problem. Hoping to save some people a few $$ and a headache with this review. As long as the free version works, have fun with it but don’t rely on this app for anything of importance.

I’m extremely disappointed that since leaving my initial review on December 20, I still haven’t received any response from the Pencil Planner support team. I initially loved the app and even renewed my membership just last month, but now I’m regretting my decision. The app has been completely unusable due to constant crashes, and I’ve lost access to critical handwritten notes and to-do lists that I relied on for daily productivity. What’s even more concerning is that I’ve now seen multiple other reviews reporting the exact same problems—constant crashes, missing data, and complete lack of support. Some reviewers even claim the developer has abandoned the app altogether, which makes me feel even more frustrated as a paying customer. Pencil Planner uses its own cloud system for data storage, and there’s no way for users to independently access or recover their data. I’ve sent multiple emails to their only support channel, and I’ve received zero acknowledgment or assistance. I truly hope the developers address these widespread issues and improve their support system, especially for paying subscribers who trust them with important personal and professional data. At this point, I can’t recommend the app until these issues are resolved.
You can’t even open the app to look at it before agreeing to purchase it, sure there’s a free trial but I’m not agreeing to terms without seeing what the app looks like. I can’t even open it to see the layout or options
I use this everyday. I wanted a planner that I could write on or type if I chose. This is it. Gives me tons of space for notes. Syncs with my calendar. It’s with me everywhere I go on my iPad or iPhone. Love it!
I have used this app for several years without any problems. Recently the app stopped syncing between my IPhone and IPad. I read their troubleshooting steps and have done them to no avail. I have sent several emails to their support with absolutely no response. When I signed out of both iPhone and IPad to make sure I was signed in to the same account, it deleted my entire calendar in my IPad. I am signed in to the correct account, but the entries are gone. They say the data is stored in their own cloud so that everything is safe, but if no one will respond to a support email, I leave it up to to whether you want to risk all of your information. Do NOT expect any kind of support.
