Never really worked properly. Needed constant resetting and setting up again. Would barely work 50% of the time. Would not connect and became ridiculous in the end that it would work for 5minutes and then bug out. Updated all the software, kept resetting it hoping it would be more reliable but decided to throw it in the trash and get a Eufy indoor camera instead (which is amazing). A waste of money for a dodgy product.
Start off with the good, picture quality and connectivity works great. I’m using Dodo wifi in the western suburbs of Sydney. The negative, misleading features. The box states “Security with 1080p” - The ability to save and record video is blocked by a paywall. Smart alerts / Pet detection - Blocked by a pay wall, even though it is listed on the box. The app itself, if you select services and the Petcube lite 2 features it states “Never miss a moment” - You will miss EVERY money unless you pay for a subscription. Secure cloud storage - What cloud? What storage? It’s blocked by a paywall. Get Alerts that matter - The only alert you will be receiving is a reminder that your subscription is due. Other than that, it’s actually a good product. But very misleading and unethical advertisement has annoyed a lot of people.
Misses motions so don’t always see what the dogs are up to. Not impressed at having to pay to view recordings. I wouldn’t have bought this camera is I knew I would have to pay a subscription. I should have bought a Swann. Don’t bother.
After setting it up, a day later I have to set it up again. Pathetic!
Tech support is not super helpful and also got no replies. Petcam sound and microphone not the best
Rubbish app, wanted to see how my puppy escaped her pen and realised this doesn’t record unless you pay. Find another brabs
All I want is to be able to see/hear my dog. Constantly drops out. Audio is dodgy. App is clunky and gimmicky. Don’t buy.
Not happy that my videos get deleted after a certain amount of time even though I’m paying $14.99 to keep the camera going. there’s no option to save the video automatically to your phone, these were the only videos I had of my puppy and I’ll never be able to get them back. Total waste of money & not happy with their service when I contacted them to ask why and if there was any way to get them back. Very upset.
I have 2 cameras in my house now and planning on adding a 3rd. I have just the basic camera so can talk to and hear pet but no treats etc as I didn’t want this. Mine seems to work well most the time. Every now and again the video gets a little laggy but not bad. I do find that it doesn’t seem to record all movement as it sometimes misses parts but overall a good product. Is a little annoying to have to pay yearly to keep it recording when it doesn’t catch all the movement. The 3rd will be added later this year in my puppy room before we have babies due so that will be exciting to be able to keep an eye on them without disrupting mom every few mins
If you’ve just bought this trash then grab your receipt and return it immediately. The app is so poorly made and requires you to disconnect/forget your device and then reinstall every time you want to use it, otherwise it will simply say “camera offline”. Even then it only works 50% of the time. I have incredible internet and the Petcube sits right next to my modem. Google this garbage product and you’ll see similar reviews. Avoid and buy a different brand.
