Photomator – Photo Editor

Despite all fancy "ML" functions (which do not work all that great every time) there are a couple of severe glitches when it comes to basic functionality: - tone control sliders poor effectiveness, especially for blacks (blacks slider missing) - color noise reduction missing - lens correction missing alltogether (distortion, sharpness, light fall-off) - huge side-car files, easily reaching PSD size. The Photomator team should focus on getting the basic performance where it needs to be before adding fancy "ML"-stuff. I bought a subscription during the latest sale - despite the low price Photomator still is a disappointment.

I think it's a nice programme. A bit of a learning curve if you are new to editing photos, but better than other programmes which I simply gave up on. I like that it's possible to save workflows. I wish it had an automated guide for restoring faded old photos. It causes my computers to crash (both intel and m). Especially when I try to turn the computer off after having used the programme. I've deleted Photomator again.

When the filebrowser arrived it got really good. Now i hope they speed up the roadmap instead of adding frames and stuff. Things like dehaze, image sorting and rating, distortion correction, repair tool improvments and depth and luminance mask is high on the wishlist. 4 for now but can be 5 soon

Been using another photo editing app for a while and decided to try this one for a change. And it’s really good! It got all the selective features that I need and is well integrated whit the “photos app” on the iPhone.

Whats the use of having a repair tool when your finger hides whatever you are doing? Also it is even more difficult if you want to zoom in a part of the picture and do detailed makrong because as soon as you lift your fingers the removal command is executed before selecting the complete object creating faulty results. Consider implementing a offset setting so that I can use my finger and see what is happening outside the finger and also a way to select complex objects by zooming in and out.

Performance has worsened year by year since I first started using it. I understand my 2018 iPad Pro is no longer the most powerful thing out there, but I don’t think that excuses somewhat frequent crashes and the sometimes painfully slow UI updates. Hoping performance can get some love going forward!

Med den senaste uppdateringen fick den lokala ändringar, masker och lager! Jag har väntat på den här uppdateringen i flera år och när den väl kom var implementeringen mycket seriösare än vad vågat hoppas på. Jag gick från LR på desktop till Photomator på iPad och äntligen finns det inga funktioner jag saknar. Mycket nöjd! Nu håller jag tummarna för att nästa steg är att förbättra användarvänligheten när man är inkopplad till extern skärm. Tro det eller ej, men när jag redigerar 42 MP bilder på en 4k-skärm, ja då laggar det lite ibland (M1) ☺️ (så coolt att det överhuvudtaget är möjligt)

Mycket enkelt program passar bra på iPad men ersätter inte capter one eller lightroom classic på dator fullt ut. Saknar en del saker som man kan behöva för ta steget fullt ut o nyttja iPad Pro för bildredigeringen 100%. Saker som kunna göra gradient mask, eller lokal mask. menyer i kommande uppdateringar , och då med mer möjligheten med lokal maskning, gradient maskning, att använda Apple pen för masker objekt. Nu har jag anget många negativa saker men bortsätt från dessa funkar programmet väldigt bra, mycket likt nya Lightroom i både funktion och enkelhet. Är väldigt stabil program vid användning mot Raw filer, hämtar mycket info från raw filer! Bra valmöjligheter för export. Hade vart toppen om man kan få in en funktion för lägga in sin egen vattenstämpel vid export. När dom har lagt in möjligheten till lokal maskning, gradient maskning och lagt in möjlighet till export med egen vattenstämpel så kommer detta program vara bland dom bästa, en klar 5 poängare av mig! Men super bra program redan, som bara kan bli bättre!
