Product Excellent, app needs work. I do not find Phyn listens to users of the app for a better and more complete user experience. I find their customer support very dismissive of Improvements that would help the user. Almost like I should be thankful they even responded to my question.

Since the new update 8.9.1, the app always crash with a white screen after login. I tried to remove it, uninstall it and hard reset iPhone. I install the app on another iPhone and iPad and it still doesn’t work. Phyn is unusable.

The phyn unit once installed is providing great information on water usage and gives control to the user. The unit should be built with all brass components instead of the current plastic as the ends can easily be cross threaded during installation. So be very careful during installation.

If you’ve ever experienced a flood due to a broken or frozen pipe then you know the nightmare. This product is so well constructed (built in the USA by the same people who build the water meters - Badger in Wisconsin) that you instantly notice its solid construction and sense its reliability. Once installed, the application walks you through the easy set up process. Takes about 4-6 weeks for the app to “learn” your water usage habits and then unlock the auto shut off valve function. It then monitors unusual activity, temperature drops or pressure variations. If it senses anything unusual, you get a text and notification on your devices and you get to interact with the system to tell it that the unusual activity is ok or not ok (ie. you’re filling the tub so don’t worry about the extensive water flow). If you don’t respond within a set amount of time, Phyn Plus will activate the shut off valve and stop the water flow through your pipes until you get back home and figure out the problem. The system also runs a plumbing check every day to check on your pressure. This takes about 3 minutes. You can set the time when this is to occur or leave it to randomly choose a time every day. I set it to run between 2:00 am and 5:30 a.m. to avoid any interruption of water supply during the day when we are likely to be using water. This product is pricey but worth its weight in gold! I highly recommend it to everyone!

Works great feel secure that I will be advised of any water issues

This has been installed for 6 months. I became a water junky , watching flow telling everyone our usage, monitor daily. It’s detected loads of taps not shutting off, outdoor hoses left on. I do home renovations and have seen/ fixed water damage. Phyn is in my home to protect my home. Water damage is preventable but who checks for drips. Outside taps usually burst due to improper fall drainage, cost of damage far greater than using phyn. In my installation I have a bypass so if Phyn is not working, I can still have water. I’m all about parallel systems if possible. It’s difficult to identify a device and I was expecting a device would be flagged on failure. What actually happens Phyn texts me an unusual event has occurred. Now I need to check the house. The teaching should have software that I can label each (which I thought was used) and expecting to see location of leak at least an area of the house. Having a better identification of device would make this a 5 star rating. This is my only reservation when I recommend Phyn. Amazing to have the daily leak check and data for real time. Strange to do huge $ renovations for customers and not do a water security system. I’ve been wanting to have peace of mind over so many variables in plumbing. Phyn is making this so

Been good so far. Easy install

Functionally the app seems to work just fine. The user interface could use some improvement I feel. My suggestions would be: The app should rotate as the device screen rotates - currently does not rotate. Right now the app is unusable if iPad is attached to a Magic Keyboard or something similar When changing units from imperial to metric you have to click on a Save button at the very bottom of the screen - The fact you selected a different unit should be enough. Why the extra step? When going into account information the name, mobile, email, password and units all require tapping on each heading to go into yet another screen - why? There is lots of screen real estate. Show all the relevant information on the initial account screen would be simpler Main screen upon opening the app should have a big button to close the valve in emergency situations. Instead I am shown the pressure, temperature and flow rate - would far prefer to see valve state and be able to change it without going to another screen

The app works relatively well and does what it’s intended for but could use some improvement. -For starters, stop asking to input my plumbers info every time there’s an issue. -Old alerts fail to clear from the system. -System pressure tests work only if nothing uses water during the preset time. If you have a humidifier or water softener or R/O system that happen to run during the test, the pressure test fails. -I can run a hose for over 2,000 litres before an alert is generated but if a shower is on for 15 minutes it will shut off the water. This is after several years of the system learning habits. -Remote water sensors work well but set your humidity level alerts very low to avoid them being annoying.
