since the switch to the new app structure the app unfortunately is not useable as it keeps crashing on app start up or during playback. would highly be appreciated if the main use case of the app, playing media, would work as stable as with the old version.
Also ich muss schon sagen, wie sehr man eine App für Downloads ungeeignet machen kann ist fast eine Kunst. Die App ist fast unbrauchbar dafür. Man kann keine Staffeln runterladen - also schon, aber sie werden halt als einzelne Folgen runtergeladen und angezeigt. Dann kann ich bei einer Folge nicht auf „weiter“ drücken, sondern muss raus, neue Folge wieder rein. Automatisches Löschen der alten Folgen? Gibts nicht. Automatisches Löschen nach einer gewissen Zeit? Gibts auch nicht. Ich hab 100 Folgen, muss JEDE EINZELNE nach links swipen und zusätzlich bestätigen, dass ich sie vom Gerät löschen möchte. Ich kann nicht mal mehrere gleichzeitig wählen. Echt traurig. Auch „Alle Löschen“ geht nicht. Ich lösche einfach die App und installiere sie neu, geht nämlich schneller, als das interne GUI zu nutzen. Eine Katahstrophe. Aber immerhin bezahle ich für Plex Pass, Geld gut investiert. (Sarkasmus). Fix your damn App.
In the old update, everything worked very well and we had access to the settings similar to what the iPad has at the moment. With this new update, you’re very restricted and nothing is working as it should be. I am forced to watch either on the TV or on the iPad and I can’t watch on my phone anymore.
Unfortunately with the latest iteration of the app Plex became virtually useless for me. I’ve been using it to stream my own files within the home network, but the latest update throws an http error every time the app loses wifi signal for a split second. That wouldn’t be so much of an issue if it would continue playing where it crashed. Instead it always restarts the movie or episode from the beginning. As every WIFI can have hiccups from time to time, this latest version renders the app useless for my use case.
That was my Review before the latest update: I am loving it! I digitalized all my Vinyls cause there is not enough Space at Home. With my Home Server and Plex i enjoy so much listening to them again! Thx!👌👌👌 Now: Forget it👎👎👎
Ich musste 6 Euro für das Aktivieren der App bezahlen, doch jetzt will man für das Streamen auch wieder Geld haben. Abzocker!
Update looks and feels great but please add back support for keyboards, left right to skip forward and backward, spacebar to pause/play etc. why on earth would you remove that? and minimizing content that is playing to browse the app is also gone, please add those features back!!
The worst and most horrible design I have ever experienced. I really hope it will be returned to the old one or I have to look for an alternative to Plex. How on earth can such happen?
Features don’t work properly and haven’t been fixed for a long time like downloads but the team prioritised different things apparently. Latest UI refresh of the app breaks casting (button non-responsive). Breaks often in direct streaming but where it stops streaming and is indifferent buffering, where only killing the app and restarting fixes it temporarily. Policy changes require payment for previous free users while the server owner is still paying.
