I use this app a lot, but have noticed that the data storage taken by the app quickly builds up to tens of GB on my iPad. The only way I've found to manage the storage and clear out no-longer-needed downloaded publications, is to delete the app then reinstall it. It would be good to have a method of deleting downloaded publications within the app.
Asking me if I want to turn notifications on EVERY time I open the app is really annoying
Press-reader use to be so much better, you subscribed to press-reader and got lots of conde Naste magazines, uk national and international news papers, celeb magazines but now you have to subscribe & pay subscription to the each individual magazines £10.00 each you might as well just go & buy it in the shop what a con.
Worked for a couple of days using local library account for a 30 day access. Now it won’t let me in. Asks me to create a new account, so I use my email address, input name and a password (12 chars, capitals, lower case, numbers and symbols, as required), returns with an invalid password message. No explanation. Forgotten password to email address results in no communication. Has anyone responsible for setting this app up road tested it? I suspect not thoroughly enough. Poor!!
With this app, you can access a vast collection of newspapers, magazines, and other printed publications from all over the world. The intuitive interface makes it as easy and convenient as possible to search for and read information.
An update led to the auto update feature no longer working. They fixed it but have done it in such a way that the update cannot be used with the iOS that my iPhone uses. When I contact them, all they say is update the app, even though I’ve pointed out to them that I can’t do that.
I have library access and all the regular uk & international magazines have disappeared, leaving only newspapers and newspaper magazine supplements… what’s going on? Is it a permanent change or a glitch?
Really love reading all my magazines and papers in bed on weekend mornings. I can read magazines from all over the world so it’s great for language learning too! The only bad thing I can say is that I have to re-enter my library card details sometimes and it always comes up at the most inconvenient times when I don’t have my card on me.
The app falsely reports making screenshots when connecting to a external monitor.
I can no longer access the app for free via my library. I have spent over ten hours trying. I walked to my library this morning and the librarians could not help. It appears that I can access a newspaper or magazine online, but not through the app as I am prompted for a Reader Premium. I have deleted the app and reinstalled many times, but to no avail. I ask my self why am I wasting valuable time on an app that is way below par.
