Why remove functionality like this?

I’ve had my quip brush & water flosser for years & absolutely love them. However, upgrading to the “smart” brush to use with the app proved to be a huge disappointment. The Bluetooth brush rarely syncs with the app, often stops mid-cycle, meaning no activity is recorded & consequently no reward points awarded. The auto-refill idea is brilliant, but I’m not in the USA so the refills don’t arrive in any predictable way & I sometimes get hit with import duties on “free” shipping of a $7 item.

Won’t connect won’t remember the device provides little to no Benefit feels like a waste of money

Great app on its face – and to be clear, the toothbrushes are excellent in every respect, as is the auto-refill subscription. The only downside is that the app doesn’t actually sync with the toothbrush. I’ve had my Quip for a year now. Initially this app was very useful; I was getting great insights about my brushing, where I was unconsciously focusing, etc. But sadly, after about two weeks, it randomly stopped syncing, and to this day it has never synced successfully. For a while it kept reminding me to “bring my toothbrush nearby” to sync, but it never realized that my toothbrush was there. I’ve tried literally holding my phone in front of my face while I brush my teeth – nothing. One year later, the app seems to have understood its own limitations, and has stopped prompting me to sync at all. So buy the toothbrush, yes. The auto-timer feature is fantastic, and the refills keep your mouth healthy. But skip the app; it doesn’t actually work. (Though it was very cool for those two weeks, haha)

For 4 months my brush would not connect to the app to sync 🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️

I love it so much

Great looking and feeling toothbrush but it won’t connect to the app, says “toothbrush found” (so I don’t think the toothbrush is the problem) but won’t connect to it.

The app is extremely unpolished at the moment. Crashes when you open the customize toothbrush (rename & color) modal. Stats and points are also in a permanent state of “calculating…”. These are fundamental to your app and they are not at all usable as of this current update.

The tap doesn’t update well at all very disappointed.

The tracking of your daily brushes is great and keeps you accountable when it actually syncs. But the redeeming of points just doesn’t work. I was able to redeem once but since then it always says failed to retrieve reward, please try again later. Pretty frustrating.
